- Competently performs Ward Clerk clerical skills.
- Promotes good public relations for the nursing department/hospital.
- Utilizes basic problem solving skills to prevent or resolve problems.
- Acts as focus of communications at the nursing station regarding patient care activities, patient location, and is able to provide information and direction regarding the same.
- Initiates and maintains an up-to-date patient kardex.
- Maintains the patient charge in appropriate and functional order; prepares and transfers chart following death or discharge.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of an approved Ward Clerk course preferred. BLS training.
Experience: Previous Ward Clerk experience preferred.
