Verify your degree meets AVMA standards
Before applying, confirm your veterinary degree is accredited by the AVMA Council on Education or that you've passed the ECFVG or PAVE program. Modern Animal requires full licensure, so credential gaps will stall any sponsorship conversation before it starts.
Target Modern Animal's multi-location openings strategically
Modern Animal operates clinics across multiple metro areas, and not every location has the same hiring urgency. Focus applications on cities where they've recently opened or expanded, as those sites are more likely to move quickly through the sponsorship process.
Bring up sponsorship after demonstrating clinical fit
In early interviews, lead with your clinical skills and experience with companion animal medicine. Once the hiring team sees you as a strong candidate, the sponsorship conversation becomes logistical rather than disqualifying.
Ask about the LCA before signing an offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Confirm Modern Animal's HR team has done this before, so you're not the first person walking them through the process.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Veterinarian roles
Search Migrate Mate to browse Veterinarian positions at Modern Animal filtered by visa sponsorship type. It lets you identify which roles and locations are actively hiring and which visa categories the company has sponsored for this position.

Find Veterinarian at Modern Animal JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Modern Animal sponsor H-1B visas for Veterinarians?
Yes, Modern Animal has sponsored H-1B visas for Veterinarian roles. Because H-1B sponsorship requires the employer to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and a petition with USCIS, it's worth confirming during the offer stage that the specific location you're joining has HR infrastructure set up to handle the process.
How do I apply for Veterinarian jobs at Modern Animal?
You can browse and apply for Veterinarian openings at Modern Animal through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can see roles where sponsorship is available. When applying, highlight your clinical experience with companion animals and ensure your AVMA-accredited credentials or ECFVG certification are clearly documented in your application materials.
Which visa types does Modern Animal sponsor for Veterinarian roles?
Modern Animal has sponsored H-1B visas for Veterinarian positions and has also worked with candidates on F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT pathways, which are common for internationally trained vets completing supervised clinical hours. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican veterinarians, as Veterinarian is an explicitly listed TN profession under the USMCA.
What qualifications does Modern Animal expect for Veterinarian roles?
Modern Animal hires DVMs or VMDs with full U.S. veterinary licensure in the state of employment. If you graduated from a non-AVMA-accredited program, you'll need to complete the ECFVG or PAVE pathway before licensure is possible. Clinical experience in companion animal or general practice is typically expected, and comfort with a technology-integrated clinic environment is a plus given Modern Animal's model.
How do I time my application around the H-1B cap?
H-1B registrations open each March for an October 1 start date. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, Modern Animal would need to register you in the lottery by late March. If selected, your petition gets filed by June, and you'd transition to H-1B status on October 1. Starting conversations with the hiring team no later than January gives enough runway to align timelines.
