Align Your Credentials to CAP Accreditation Standards
NeoGenomics operates CAP-accredited labs, so highlight any experience with quality systems, proficiency testing, or SOPs on your resume. Reviewers in clinical lab hiring prioritize candidates who already understand regulated environments.
Target Roles Matching Your ASCP or AMT Certification
NeoGenomics posts laboratory roles across histology, molecular, and cytogenetics specialties. Matching your ASCP, AMT, or NCA certification to the specific discipline in the job posting strengthens both your application and your H-1B specialty occupation case.
Confirm TN Eligibility Before Applying as a Canadian
Canadian citizens in qualifying laboratory scientist or technologist roles may qualify for TN status, which avoids the H-1B lottery entirely. Verify your specific job title maps to an eligible TN category under USMCA before requesting sponsorship.
Ask About PERM Timeline During Offer Negotiations
If you're targeting permanent residency through EB-2 or EB-3, ask the recruiter upfront whether NeoGenomics initiates PERM shortly after hire. DOL PERM processing currently runs over a year, so earlier conversations protect your long-term status.
Use OPT or CPT to Build Clinical Lab Experience First
F-1 students can pursue OPT or CPT at a clinical reference lab before a full-time offer. Hands-on experience processing oncology specimens or running NGS panels directly improves your candidacy and supports the specialty occupation determination USCIS requires for H-1B.
Search Migrate Mate to Find Open Laboratory Roles
Filter by NeoGenomics Laboratories on Migrate Mate to browse verified laboratory openings that list visa sponsorship. Applying through a curated source ensures the roles you target are actively seeking candidates who need work authorization.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does NeoGenomics Laboratories sponsor H-1B visas for Laboratorys?
Yes, NeoGenomics Laboratories has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for laboratory roles. Because clinical lab positions typically require a degree in a specific scientific discipline, they generally satisfy USCIS's specialty occupation requirement. Your degree field, job duties, and title all factor into the determination, so aligning these clearly in your application materials strengthens the petition.
Which visa types are commonly used for Laboratory roles at NeoGenomics Laboratories?
H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa for laboratory scientists and technologists at NeoGenomics. The company also sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT for students gaining hands-on experience, and TN visa status is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying laboratory science roles under USMCA. For longer-term paths, NeoGenomics has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card filings for laboratory staff.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Laboratory roles at NeoGenomics Laboratories?
Most laboratory positions at NeoGenomics require a bachelor's degree or higher in medical laboratory science, biology, chemistry, or a related field. Professional certification through ASCP, AMT, or an equivalent body is frequently required or preferred. Experience in a CAP-accredited or CLIA-certified clinical laboratory setting, particularly in oncology, molecular diagnostics, or cytogenetics, makes candidates significantly more competitive.
How do I apply for Laboratory jobs at NeoGenomics Laboratories?
Browse verified Laboratory openings at NeoGenomics Laboratories on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles that include visa sponsorship. Once you identify a position, apply directly through NeoGenomics's careers portal. Tailor your resume to highlight laboratory certifications, relevant specimen types, and any regulated environment experience before submitting, as these directly support both the hiring decision and any subsequent visa petition.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship for a Laboratory position?
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed starting April 1 each year for an October 1 start date, and USCIS runs an annual lottery when registrations exceed available slots. If you're on F-1 OPT, your OPT authorization period may bridge the gap. Coordinate closely with NeoGenomics's HR team on the registration deadline and confirm whether premium processing is available to accelerate approval after selection.
