Highlight Specialty Occupation Credentials Early
Retail management and visual merchandising roles at Oakley are more likely to qualify as specialty occupations when your degree directly supports the function. Frame your credentials around business administration, fashion merchandising, or retail management before your first interview.
Target Oakley's Brand-Focused Retail Locations
Oakley operates both standalone brand stores and shop-in-shop formats inside larger sporting goods retailers. Full-time positions at dedicated Oakley stores tend to carry more sponsorship potential than temporary or concession-based roles, so filter your search accordingly.
Confirm OPT STEM Extension Eligibility Before Applying
If you hold an F-1 visa and your degree is in a STEM field like supply chain or data-driven retail analytics, verify with your DSO whether your program qualifies for the 24-month OPT extension. That extended timeline gives Oakley more runway before an H-1B filing is required.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Oakley Retail Openings
Retail sponsorship roles rarely stay open long. Browse verified Oakley retail listings on Migrate Mate to find roles explicitly open to visa sponsorship candidates, saving you the guesswork of cold-applying to positions that won't move forward.
Align Your Application Timing with the H-1B Cap Calendar
H-1B petitions can only be filed starting April 1 for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer from Oakley late in the fiscal year, your start date may shift by up to 12 months. Discuss this timeline openly with your hiring contact so both sides plan accordingly.
Negotiate Visa Sponsorship Terms Before Signing
Before accepting any Oakley offer, confirm in writing which visa category the company intends to file under, who covers USCIS filing fees, and whether the company will support PERM labor certification if your goal is permanent residence through an EB-2 or EB-3 pathway.

Find Retail at Oakley JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Oakley sponsor H-1B visas for Retail roles?
Yes, Oakley has sponsored H-1B visas for retail professionals. H-1B sponsorship for retail positions typically applies to roles with a clear specialty occupation basis, such as retail management or merchandising positions that require a relevant bachelor's degree. Your role description and educational background both factor into whether USCIS classifies the position as a qualifying specialty occupation.
How do I apply for Retail jobs at Oakley?
You can find Oakley retail openings through the Luxottica and EssilorLuxottica careers portal, since Oakley operates under that parent company's HR infrastructure. For visa sponsorship-specific listings, Migrate Mate surfaces Oakley retail roles that are open to international candidates, letting you filter by visa type before you apply.
Which visa types does Oakley commonly use for Retail positions?
Oakley's retail sponsorship activity covers H-1B for specialty occupation roles, TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying retail management categories, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students in active programs. Candidates pursuing long-term employment can also explore EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship, though that pathway typically follows an initial nonimmigrant visa period.
What qualifications does Oakley expect for sponsored Retail roles?
Sponsored retail positions at Oakley generally require a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, such as business, retail management, or a comparable discipline. Prior experience in a brand retail or sporting goods environment strengthens your application. Roles with supervisory or buyer responsibilities are more likely to meet USCIS specialty occupation standards than entry-level associate positions.
How do I navigate the sponsorship process timeline for an Oakley Retail role?
From offer to authorized work start can take three to eight months depending on visa type and whether premium processing is used for H-1B filings. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border on the day of travel, making it a faster path for eligible candidates. Confirm your current visa status and expiration date with Oakley's HR team as early in the process as possible to avoid gaps in work authorization.
