Align your credentials to contract placements
OSI Engineering operates as a staffing firm, so your resume needs to highlight project-based work and adaptability across client environments. Emphasize discrete deliverables and industries served, not just tenure at a single employer.
Confirm OPT authorization covers your start date
Staffing firms often move quickly from offer to placement. If you're on F-1 OPT, verify your EAD card is in hand and that enough authorization days remain to cover the assignment start before you accept.
Target engineering disciplines OSI actively places
OSI consistently recruits across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering functions for clients in manufacturing, defense, and energy. Focusing your outreach on those verticals increases your chances of matching an active role with sponsorship attached.
Ask recruiters about PERM timing on permanent roles
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, PERM labor certification requires the employer to document recruitment efforts before filing. Ask OSI's recruiting team early whether a direct-hire role includes Green Card support and at what point in employment it begins.
Use Migrate Mate to surface OSI Engineering openings
OSI posts engineering roles across multiple channels, making it easy to miss positions tied to sponsorship. Search Migrate Mate to filter OSI Engineering jobs by visa type and find current openings that explicitly support H-1B or OPT candidates.
Prepare for client-facing technical screens early
In a staffing model, OSI submits your profile to end clients who run their own technical interviews. Having your engineering portfolio, certifications, and reference contacts ready before the recruiter submits your profile shortens the placement timeline significantly.

Does OSI Engineering sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, OSI Engineering has a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas for engineering roles. As a staffing and consulting firm, OSI functions as the petitioning employer, which means they file the H-1B on your behalf even when you're placed at a client site. Confirm with the recruiter whether a specific role is structured for H-1B sponsorship before you get deep into the process.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at OSI Engineering?
You can apply directly through OSI Engineering's careers portal or browse their active listings on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type. OSI recruits through direct applications and recruiter outreach, so connecting with a staffing recruiter at OSI in your engineering discipline can move things faster than a cold application alone.
Which visa types does OSI Engineering commonly use for Engineering roles?
OSI Engineering sponsors across several visa categories for engineering positions, including H-1B for specialty occupation roles, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering fields, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students in active programs. For permanent roles, OSI has supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification filed with the DOL.
What qualifications does OSI Engineering expect for sponsored Engineering roles?
Most engineering roles at OSI require at minimum a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, which also satisfies USCIS specialty occupation requirements for H-1B eligibility. Practical experience in your engineering subdiscipline matters more than credentials alone, particularly for contract placements where clients assess technical fit directly. Licensure such as a PE credential strengthens your profile for civil or structural roles.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at OSI Engineering?
H-1B timing is critical in a staffing context. USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year, and cap-subject petitions have an October 1 start date. OSI would need to register you in the lottery and file by April. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, a transfer petition can start much sooner since cap-exempt transfers aren't tied to the annual cycle.
