Job Summary
We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead our Firewall as a service offerings across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. This is a key role within our cloud network and AI security business, a market leader with one of the fastest-growing products in the space. You’ll work closely with major hyperscalers to deliver simple, best-in-class network and AI security solutions. In this highly visible, cross-functional role, you’ll help build and scale the business, own platform metrics, and drive insights. You’ll have strong support, but success is measured by the delivery of meaningful business outcomes. The Principal Product Manager must be deeply fluent in using AI tools as part of their everyday product workflow — someone who can move quickly from idea to prototype, from ambiguity to clarity, and from intuition to validation. This is not a traditional PM role centered on writing documents and handing them off. Instead, you’ll actively use AI to explore product logic, prototype workflows, test assumptions, and unblock teams before engineering effort is committed. You’ll work close to the product surface, shaping decisions by validating what should be built, not just defining requirements for what could be built.
Key Responsibilities
- Own your AI-enabled product end-to-end, making strategic decisions, prioritizing initiatives, and defining outcomes.
- Use AI tools to build prototypes that validate product logic, explore UX alternatives, and reduce the time from idea to insight.
- Partner with engineering, design, and business teams to translate AI capabilities into tangible, validated products.
- Make decisions in complex, evolving environments where AI introduces new trade-offs and possibilities.
- Continuously explore AI and cloud technologies, and apply emerging capabilities to improve product thinking and execution.
- Raise the bar for other PMs by demonstrating AI-native workflows and best practices.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent military experience.
- 5+ years of product management experience building SaaS products with domain expertise in networking and/or security.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools.
- Strong product judgment: you know what to test, what to ignore, and what to escalate.
- Experience in driving high-velocity product releases using Agile methodology.
- Experience in making product decisions based on incomplete or imperfect data.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).
- Experience in the cybersecurity industry.
- Advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Experience presenting to executive leadership.
Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
$171,200.00 - $276,825.00/yr
Our Commitment

Target roles tied to product delivery
Palo Alto Networks hires Program Managers closest to product and platform delivery, not just operational support. Filter open roles by terms like 'Cortex,' 'Prisma,' or 'cloud delivery' to identify positions with the clearest technical scope and stronger specialty occupation framing.
Understand how the fiscal year affects H-1B timing
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start. If your OPT or current status expires before then, ask during the offer stage whether Palo Alto Networks will support a cap-exempt filing through an affiliated entity or bridge your status.
Clarify LCA job codes before accepting an offer
The Labor Condition Application DOL requires locks in your job title and prevailing wage tier. For Program Manager roles spanning multiple teams, confirm with the employer which SOC code they intend to use, since mismatches between listed duties and filed codes can trigger RFEs.
Use Migrate Mate to find open sponsorship-confirmed roles
Search Migrate Mate to filter Project Program Manager openings at Palo Alto Networks by the visa types you need. This saves time you'd otherwise spend manually screening job listings that don't confirm sponsorship eligibility upfront.
Request early confirmation of Green Card intent
If long-term U.S. residence matters to you, ask whether Palo Alto Networks initiates PERM labor certification for Program Manager roles. Companies in the cybersecurity space often begin EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship after one to two years in role, but timelines vary by team and headcount planning.

Find Project Program Manager at Palo Alto Networks JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Palo Alto Networks sponsor H-1B visas for Project Program Managers?
Yes. Palo Alto Networks has a consistent history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Project Program Manager roles. The position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or business. Your specific team and job scope may affect how the petition is structured, so confirm the details with the recruiting team before signing an offer.
How do I apply for Project Program Manager jobs at Palo Alto Networks?
Applications go through Palo Alto Networks' careers portal. You can also find sponsorship-confirmed openings on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. Tailor your resume to reflect cross-functional program delivery and any experience with security, cloud, or enterprise software environments, since those align most closely with how Palo Alto Networks structures this function.
Which visa types does Palo Alto Networks commonly use for Project Program Manager roles?
Palo Alto Networks sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Project Program Manager positions, along with immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and offers a simpler process with no lottery. TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals. Which pathway fits you depends on your citizenship, current status, and how far into your career you are.
What qualifications does Palo Alto Networks expect for Project Program Manager roles?
Palo Alto Networks typically expects a bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline, with several years of program or project management experience in a technology environment. PMP certification is frequently listed as preferred or required. Experience managing cross-functional programs in cybersecurity, SaaS, or cloud infrastructure strengthens your application significantly, as most Program Manager roles at Palo Alto Networks sit close to product or platform delivery teams.
How do I time my application around my current visa status?
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply early enough that an offer can be secured before your OPT expires, since H-1B cap filings only happen in April. E-3 and TN holders can change employers with fewer timing constraints, but you'll still need a new petition or letter before starting. Confirm with the Palo Alto Networks recruiting team which USCIS filing type they'll use and whether premium processing is available for your situation.
