Frame your retail execution experience clearly
Merchandise Associate roles focus on planogram compliance, shelf resets, and display builds. Tailor your resume to show hands-on experience with these tasks, since PepsiCo hiring managers evaluate route-based merchandising competency before considering sponsorship.
Target PepsiCo's direct careers portal early
PepsiCo posts Merchandise Associate openings by region and business unit. Search by division, including Frito-Lay and Pepsi Beverages Company, since sponsorship decisions are often made at the business unit level rather than corporate.
Understand which visa categories fit this role
Merchandise Associate positions typically support TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying categories, F-1 OPT for recent graduates, and H-1B if the role meets specialty occupation standards. Confirm the role's classification with your hiring contact before assuming eligibility.
Ask about sponsorship intent at the offer stage
PepsiCo has sponsored work visas for this function before, but sponsorship isn't guaranteed for every Merchandise Associate opening. Raise the question directly after receiving a verbal offer, not during early interviews, to avoid signaling that your candidacy depends on it.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Merchandise Associate roles
Search Migrate Mate to surface active Merchandise Associate listings at PepsiCo that are open to visa sponsorship. Filtering by visa type before applying saves time and focuses your outreach on openings where sponsorship is already on the table.

Find Merchandise Associate at PepsiCo JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does PepsiCo sponsor H-1B visas for Merchandise Associates?
PepsiCo does sponsor H-1B visas, and Merchandise Associate roles are among the positions where sponsorship has occurred. That said, H-1B eligibility for this role depends on whether the specific position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. You'll want to confirm the role's classification with the recruiter during the offer stage, since job-level details affect eligibility.
How do I apply for Merchandise Associate jobs at PepsiCo?
Apply directly through PepsiCo's careers portal or browse open roles on Migrate Mate, which filters for positions where visa sponsorship is available. Merchandise Associate openings are posted by region and often by specific business unit, such as Frito-Lay or Pepsi Beverages Company. Applying to roles in your target geography and business unit increases your chances of reaching a hiring team that has sponsored visas before.
Which visa types does PepsiCo commonly sponsor for Merchandise Associate roles?
PepsiCo has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for this function. TN status is a straightforward option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations. F-1 OPT is commonly used by recent graduates starting in these roles while H-1B sponsorship is pursued longer term.
What qualifications does PepsiCo look for in Merchandise Associate candidates?
PepsiCo typically looks for candidates who can work independently in field-based environments, manage physical product placement, and operate within route schedules. Retail merchandising experience, familiarity with planogram execution, and a valid driver's license are common requirements. For international candidates pursuing H-1B sponsorship, a relevant bachelor's degree strengthens the specialty occupation case that USCIS requires.
How do I time my Merchandise Associate application around visa filing deadlines?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, PepsiCo would need to file your petition during the annual cap registration window, which typically opens in March for an October 1 start date. For F-1 OPT candidates, plan your application so your authorization is active before your expected start date, accounting for E-Verify processing time during PepsiCo's onboarding.
