Frame your portfolio around AI hardware
Reflection AI builds infrastructure for frontier AI systems, so position your mechanical engineering work around thermal management, server chassis design, or precision hardware for compute-dense environments. Generic manufacturing experience reads as a weaker fit than targeted hardware context.
Align your degree field with the role description
E-3 and TN both require that your degree field directly matches the offered role. A degree in mechanical, aerospace, or materials engineering typically satisfies this for Mechanical Engineer positions. A general engineering degree with no mechanical focus can create complications at the filing stage.
Request the Labor Condition Application early
Once Reflection AI extends an offer, ask your HR contact when the LCA filing with DOL will begin. LCA certification is required before your visa can be issued, and delays here push back your start date. Knowing the employer's internal timeline lets you plan your consular appointment accurately.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Mechanical Engineer roles
Search Migrate Mate to browse Mechanical Engineer openings at Reflection AI filtered by visa type. This saves time compared to manually cross-referencing job boards with sponsorship data, especially if you're targeting specific visa categories like E-3 or TN.
Prepare for technical depth in hardware interviews
Reflection AI interviews for mechanical roles tend to probe system-level thinking: thermal dissipation, tolerance stack-ups, and manufacturability under tight constraints. Bring documented examples from previous hardware projects rather than relying on general engineering principles during the interview process.

Does Reflection AI sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanical Engineers?
Reflection AI's documented sponsorship for Mechanical Engineer roles covers E-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas. There is no confirmed H-1B sponsorship on record for this specific function. If the H-1B is your only viable option, contact Reflection AI's recruiting team directly to ask whether they'll support an H-1B petition for the role you're targeting.
Which visa types are commonly used for Mechanical Engineer roles at Reflection AI?
Reflection AI sponsors E-3 visas for Australian citizens, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT or CPT for students and recent graduates on F-1 status. Each of these categories requires that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation and that your degree field directly aligns with the mechanical engineering position offered.
What qualifications and experience does Reflection AI expect for Mechanical Engineer roles?
Reflection AI focuses on hardware that supports AI research infrastructure, so experience with thermal systems, precision fabrication, or compute hardware carries more weight than general industrial manufacturing backgrounds. A bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical, aerospace, or materials engineering is typically required. Hands-on experience with CAD tools and design-for-manufacturing principles strengthens your application considerably.
How do I apply for Mechanical Engineer jobs at Reflection AI?
You can find and apply for Mechanical Engineer roles at Reflection AI through Migrate Mate, which lists open positions filtered by visa sponsorship type. Once you identify a matching role, apply directly and flag your visa category in your application or cover materials. Reflection AI's recruiting team handles sponsorship questions after an initial interview stage.
How do I plan my timeline when switching to Reflection AI on an E-3 or TN visa?
For E-3 visas, budget at least three to six weeks from offer acceptance to consular appointment, plus additional time for the DOL to certify the Labor Condition Application. TN visas for Canadians can be obtained at the port of entry, which significantly shortens the process. For TN holders who are Mexican nationals, consular processing applies, so add four to eight weeks. Confirm your start date with Reflection AI only after your visa appointment is booked.
