Credential Your Degree Before Applying
Social work licensure boards in Massachusetts require foreign degree equivalency evaluations. Get your credential assessed through NASW-approved evaluators before submitting applications, so Riverside's HR team isn't waiting on paperwork before extending an offer.
Target Roles Requiring Clinical Licensure
Riverside Community Care's social work openings skew toward licensed clinical roles like LCSW and LICSW positions. These roles have clearly defined specialty occupation arguments, which strengthens an H-1B petition and reduces employer hesitation about the filing process.
Find Open Positions Through Migrate Mate
Search Riverside Community Care's social work listings on Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles where visa sponsorship is supported, saving you from applying to positions where sponsorship isn't on the table.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During Interviews
Ask directly whether the offer includes H-1B filing or only F-1 OPT continuation. Healthcare nonprofits sometimes support OPT extensions through STEM pathways but aren't always prepared to file a full H-1B cap-subject petition without advance planning from their legal team.
Time Your OPT Start Around Licensing Timelines
Massachusetts LICSW licensure can take several months after graduation. If you're on OPT, your 12-month authorization clock starts on your employment start date, not your license approval date, so coordinate your job offer timing carefully with your DSO.
Understand the H-1B Cap-Exempt Possibility
Riverside Community Care operates as a nonprofit healthcare organization. Depending on the specific entity filing the petition, they may qualify as a cap-exempt H-1B employer under USCIS guidelines, which means year-round filing without waiting for the April lottery window.

Does Riverside Community Care sponsor H-1B visas for Social Workers?
Yes, Riverside Community Care has sponsored H-1B visas for Social Work roles. As a nonprofit healthcare organization, it may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B status under USCIS rules, which allows petitions to be filed year-round rather than through the annual April lottery. Confirm the specific filing entity's cap-exempt status with their HR or legal team before relying on this pathway.
How do I apply for Social Work jobs at Riverside Community Care?
You can browse Riverside Community Care's open Social Work positions directly on their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, include your licensure status or expected licensure date prominently in your application materials, as clinical credentialing is a primary qualifier for these roles.
Which visa types are commonly used for Social Work roles at Riverside Community Care?
H-1B is the most common long-term sponsorship pathway for Social Work positions at Riverside Community Care. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported, making the organization accessible to recent graduates still within their authorized training period. TN visas may apply for Canadian or Mexican nationals with qualifying social work credentials under USMCA occupational categories.
What qualifications does Riverside Community Care expect for Social Work positions?
Most clinical social work roles at Riverside Community Care require a Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited program. Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker credentials are frequently required or strongly preferred. For international candidates, a foreign degree equivalency evaluation is typically needed before licensure boards in Massachusetts will process your application.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship for a Social Work role?
If Riverside Community Care files a cap-subject H-1B for you, registration opens in March with an October 1 start date if selected, meaning you could wait up to six months after an offer is extended. If they qualify as a cap-exempt employer, the timeline shortens significantly. USCIS standard processing currently runs two to four months, with premium processing available to reduce that to 15 business days.
