Align Your Licensure Before Applying
Florida requires a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Master Social Worker credential for most hospital roles. Confirm your degree maps to NASW standards and that your state licensure transfer is underway before you submit an application to BayCare.
Target Care Coordination and Discharge Roles
BayCare's Social Work openings are heavily concentrated in case management, discharge planning, and behavioral health units. Framing your resume around interdisciplinary team experience and utilization review aligns directly with what BayCare's hiring managers are screening for.
Browse Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter BayCare Health System Social Work postings by visa type so you only spend time on roles where sponsorship is confirmed. Applying through a filtered list prevents wasted applications to positions that won't support your status.
Clarify Your OPT or TN Timeline Upfront
If you're on F-1 OPT, Social Work qualifies as a STEM-adjacent field only if your program is designated. Know your exact OPT end date before your first interview so BayCare's HR team can assess whether a cap-gap or TN transition is feasible within their hiring window.
Expect an LCA Filing Before Your Start Date
For H-1B sponsorship, BayCare must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your petition. Build at least 60 days of LCA certification time into your expected start date conversation with your recruiter to avoid offer letter delays.
Prepare a Credential Evaluation for Foreign Degrees
If your social work degree was earned outside the United States, obtain a course-by-course credential evaluation from a NACES-member agency before BayCare's HR reviews your application. Florida licensing boards and USCIS both require equivalency documentation for foreign academic credentials.

Find Social Work at BayCare Health System JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does BayCare Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Social Workers?
Yes, BayCare Health System sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Social Work roles, particularly those requiring a master's degree in social work and a Florida state license. Because H-1B sponsorship involves employer filing fees and USCIS processing, sponsorship is typically confirmed at the offer stage rather than during initial screening. Asking directly with the recruiter early in the process is the most reliable way to confirm eligibility for a specific posting.
How do I apply for Social Work jobs at BayCare Health System?
You can browse and apply for Social Work positions at BayCare through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters BayCare postings by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles that match your immigration status. Tailor your application to highlight clinical licensure, discharge planning experience, and any interdisciplinary care coordination work, as those competencies appear consistently across BayCare's Social Work job descriptions.
Which visa types does BayCare Health System commonly use for Social Work roles?
BayCare sponsors several visa categories for Social Work positions, including H-1B, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying credentials, J-1 for exchange visitor programs, and F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates in practical training. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways are also supported, which is relevant for candidates planning a longer-term immigration strategy within the healthcare system.
What qualifications does BayCare Health System expect for Social Work positions?
Most BayCare Social Work roles require a Master of Social Work degree and an active Florida LCSW or LMSW license, or demonstrated eligibility to obtain one. Clinical experience in a hospital, behavioral health, or case management setting is strongly preferred. For international candidates, a NACES-accredited credential evaluation confirming degree equivalency to a U.S. MSW is typically required before BayCare can proceed with licensure verification or a sponsorship review.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a BayCare Social Work offer?
Timeline depends on visa type. For H-1B, the DOL Labor Condition Application takes roughly seven to ten business days, followed by USCIS processing that can range from a few weeks with premium processing to several months under standard filing. TN classification for Canadians can sometimes be resolved at the port of entry on the start date. Build at least 60 to 90 days of runway between your verbal offer and your intended first day to accommodate the full filing sequence.
