Verify your credentials meet Florida licensure requirements
Florida requires ECFMG certification for international medical graduates before licensure. Get your ECFMG certification and USMLE steps completed well before applying, since BayCare's credentialing process adds time on top of state licensing timelines.
Target BayCare's high-need specialty openings
BayCare consistently recruits for hospitalist, primary care, and select specialist roles across its system. Focusing your applications on service lines with documented shortages strengthens your sponsorship case and signals a genuine workforce need to USCIS.
Understand how J-1 waiver pathways connect to BayCare
If you're completing a J-1 residency or fellowship, a Conrad 30 waiver tied to an underserved area can convert your status for a BayCare role. Confirm which BayCare facilities qualify as HPSA or MUA sites before negotiating your contract.
Clarify sponsorship scope before signing your offer
Ask BayCare's physician recruitment team whether your offer includes both H-1B filing and a future PERM-based Green Card. Health systems sometimes cover H-1B costs but treat PERM as a separate negotiation, so confirm this in writing upfront.
Browse Physician openings at BayCare using Migrate Mate
Search BayCare's current Physician listings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. You'll see which roles are actively open and can prioritize applications to positions where sponsorship has been confirmed for international candidates.

Find Physician at BayCare Health System JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does BayCare Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Physicians?
Yes, BayCare Health System sponsors H-1B visas for Physician roles. As a large hospital system with ongoing recruitment needs across primary care and specialty medicine, BayCare has an established process for filing H-1B petitions through USCIS. You should confirm sponsorship availability with the physician recruitment team during early conversations, before an offer is formally extended.
Which visa types does BayCare Health System commonly use for Physician roles?
BayCare sponsors several visa categories for Physicians, including H-1B, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, J-1 with Conrad 30 waiver arrangements, and F-1 OPT in limited circumstances. For long-term pathways, BayCare also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process filed with the DOL.
What qualifications does BayCare Health System expect from Physician candidates?
BayCare expects board certification or board eligibility in your specialty, a valid or pending Florida medical license, and ECFMG certification for international medical graduates. Most roles require completion of an accredited U.S. or Canadian residency program. Fellowship training is preferred for specialist positions, and prior hospital-based clinical experience strengthens applications for hospitalist and acute care roles.
How do I apply for Physician jobs at BayCare Health System?
You can browse and apply for Physician openings at BayCare Health System directly through Migrate Mate, which surfaces current listings filtered for visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, include your CV, medical credentials, licensure status, and a clear note about your current visa status so BayCare's physician recruitment team can assess sponsorship fit from the first review.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing H-1B sponsorship through BayCare?
Start conversations with BayCare's recruitment team at least 12 months before your intended start date. H-1B cap registration opens each March for an October 1 start, and USCIS premium processing can reduce petition review to around 15 business days. If your start date doesn't align with the cap cycle, ask BayCare about a J-1 waiver or TN bridge to maintain lawful status during the gap.
