Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Registered Nurse Jobs at BayCare Health System Jobs
Get your credentials evaluated before applying
If you trained outside the U.S., have your nursing degree evaluated by a NACES-approved credential evaluator. BayCare will need documentation confirming your education meets Florida Board of Nursing requirements before any sponsorship conversation can move forward.
Target BayCare's high-volume specialty units
BayCare consistently posts Registered Nurse openings in ICU, emergency, and med-surg departments across its Tampa Bay hospitals. Focusing your application on these units gives you the strongest chance of landing a role where sponsorship is already an established part of the hiring process.
Confirm Florida RN licensure before your interview
Florida requires an active state RN license before you can start work. Applying for endorsement or NCLEX authorization early prevents delays after an offer is made, since BayCare cannot complete visa filing until your license is in hand.
Understand EB-3 PERM timelines for permanent sponsorship
For Registered Nurses, EB-3 is the most common Green Card pathway. The PERM labor certification process through DOL typically runs six months or longer before USCIS filing begins. Factor this into your planning if you're currently on OPT or a J-1 waiver with a fixed end date.
Ask HR specifically about J-1 waiver sponsorship
If you completed a J-1 exchange program, BayCare operates in a health professional shortage area, which makes Conrad State 30 J-1 waiver sponsorship possible. Confirm with their HR team early in the process whether they've filed waivers for this role before accepting an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to filter BayCare RN openings by visa type
Not every BayCare posting is open to sponsored candidates, and sifting through hundreds of listings manually wastes time. Use Migrate Mate to filter Registered Nurse roles at BayCare by the visa types you hold, so you're only applying to positions where sponsorship is confirmed.

Does BayCare Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Registered Nurses?
Yes, BayCare Health System has sponsored H-1B visas for Registered Nurses. Nursing qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines when the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field. You'll need an active Florida RN license and a signed offer letter before BayCare can file the H-1B petition on your behalf.
How do I apply for Registered Nurse jobs at BayCare Health System?
You can apply directly through BayCare's careers portal, where Registered Nurse openings are listed by facility and specialty. To identify which postings are open to visa-sponsored candidates, use Migrate Mate to filter BayCare's RN listings by visa type before you apply. Having your Florida RN license, resume, and credential evaluation ready before submitting strengthens your application.
Which visa types does BayCare Health System commonly use for Registered Nurse roles?
BayCare sponsors several visa types for Registered Nurses, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent nursing graduates, J-1 for exchange visitors, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for permanent residency pathways. The EB-3 category is the most common Green Card route for RNs, given the DOL's Schedule A shortage designation for nursing.
What qualifications does BayCare Health System expect from Registered Nurse candidates?
BayCare expects an active Florida RN license, a nursing degree from an accredited program, and BLS certification at minimum. Many postings, particularly in ICU, emergency, and critical care units, prefer candidates with one to two years of acute care experience. International nursing graduates should also have a credential evaluation completed and, if applicable, pass the CGFNS qualifying exam before applying.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a BayCare Registered Nurse role?
For H-1B sponsorship, BayCare typically files after you have an offer and an active RN license, with USCIS standard processing taking three to five months. Premium processing can reduce that to 15 business days. For EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, the full process from PERM labor certification through USCIS approval commonly runs two years or more depending on your country of birth and visa bulletin priority dates.
