Tips for Finding Clinical Medical Assistant Jobs at BayCare Health System
Obtain CMA Certification Before Applying
BayCare typically expects candidates to hold a CMA credential from AAMA or RMA from AMT before sponsorship conversations begin. Arriving with active certification removes a common barrier that stalls clinical hiring for international applicants.
Target BayCare's Ambulatory and Outpatient Clinics
BayCare's highest Clinical Medical Assistant demand sits in its outpatient and physician group settings. Filtering your applications toward those facilities rather than inpatient hospital postings increases your chances of reaching a hiring manager with active openings.
Clarify OPT or CPT Authorization with Your DSO Early
If you're on an F-1 visa, confirm your OPT or CPT authorization aligns with a clinical assistant role before your first interview. USCIS requires the job function to match your degree field, and BayCare's HR will ask for proof of work authorization upfront.
Understand BayCare's H-1B Filing Window
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. Align your offer negotiation and onboarding timeline with BayCare's internal HR deadlines, which typically sit several weeks before USCIS's registration window opens each March.
Use Migrate Mate to Track BayCare's Active Openings
BayCare posts Clinical Medical Assistant roles across multiple facilities at different times of year. Use Migrate Mate to filter verified visa-sponsoring openings at BayCare specifically, so you're applying to roles with confirmed sponsorship history rather than guessing from general job boards.
Prepare Credential Verification Documents for TN or J-1 Processing
For TN or J-1 applicants, BayCare will need to verify your foreign medical training or clinical credentials before extending an offer. Have your transcripts, credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator, and licensure documents ready to share with the hiring team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does BayCare Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Medical Assistants?
Yes, BayCare Health System sponsors H-1B visas for Clinical Medical Assistant roles. Because H-1B petitions are subject to an annual cap and a lottery, timing matters. BayCare's HR team typically initiates the sponsorship process well in advance of the April filing window, so you'll want to have your offer in place before late winter.
Which visa types are commonly used for Clinical Medical Assistant roles at BayCare Health System?
BayCare has sponsored Clinical Medical Assistants through H-1B, F-1 OPT and CPT, TN visa, J-1 visa, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. F-1 OPT is a common starting point for recent graduates. TN visa applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying clinical occupations. EB-3 is frequently used for permanent residence sponsorship in healthcare support roles.
What qualifications or experience does BayCare Health System expect for Clinical Medical Assistant positions?
BayCare generally expects applicants to hold an active CMA credential from AAMA or RMA from AMT, along with hands-on clinical experience in a physician office or outpatient setting. Phlebotomy and EHR system proficiency are commonly listed requirements. For visa sponsorship to proceed, your degree or training must align with the specialty occupation definition USCIS applies to the role.
How do I apply for Clinical Medical Assistant jobs at BayCare Health System?
You can browse and apply for Clinical Medical Assistant openings at BayCare Health System directly through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles with verified visa sponsorship history. Once you identify a relevant posting, submit your application through BayCare's careers portal. Tailor your resume to highlight clinical certifications, outpatient experience, and any current work authorization status so the recruiter can assess your eligibility quickly.
How do I know if BayCare will start my Green Card process as a Clinical Medical Assistant?
EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for Clinical Medical Assistants involves PERM labor certification through the DOL before USCIS can adjudicate the immigrant petition. BayCare has used this pathway for clinical support staff, but sponsorship is typically discussed after you've established a consistent performance record in the role. Raise the question during offer negotiation and confirm the timeline in writing before signing.
