Certify Your Credentials Before Applying
Orlando Health's clinical hiring teams expect credentialed candidates. Hold a current CMA certification from AAMA or RMA from AMT before submitting applications. Uncertified applicants are routinely screened out before reaching the sponsorship conversation.
Target Outpatient and Specialty Clinic Postings
Orlando Health operates dozens of specialty clinics alongside its hospital campuses. Clinical Medical Assistant openings in outpatient settings tend to move through hiring faster than inpatient roles, giving you a shorter runway from offer to sponsorship paperwork.
Confirm OPT STEM Eligibility Early in the Process
If you're on F-1 OPT, verify whether your degree field qualifies for the 24-month STEM extension before your first interview. Clinical laboratory science and health sciences degrees often qualify, giving you a longer bridge while Orlando Health prepares an H-1B filing.
Ask HR Specifically About PERM-Based Sponsorship
Orlando Health sponsors both nonimmigrant and immigrant visa pathways. When you receive an offer, ask HR directly whether your role qualifies for PERM-based EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, as clinical support positions have qualified under both categories in healthcare systems of this size.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Active Orlando Health Listings
Orlando Health posts Clinical Medical Assistant openings across multiple campuses simultaneously, and listings open and close quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Orlando Health roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to verified openings rather than guessing from general job boards.
Prepare Your TN Documentation If You Hold Canadian or Mexican Citizenship
The TN visa covers medical technologists and allied health roles recognized under USMCA. If you're Canadian or Mexican, confirm with Orlando Health's HR that your specific Clinical Medical Assistant duties align with an eligible TN category before the offer stage to avoid delays.

Does Orlando Health sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Medical Assistants?
Yes, Orlando Health sponsors H-1B visas for Clinical Medical Assistant roles. As a large nonprofit health system, Orlando Health is a cap-exempt employer through its affiliation with nonprofit and government research entities, which means H-1B petitions can be filed year-round without waiting for the annual lottery. Confirm cap-exempt status with HR during the offer stage, as it significantly affects your filing timeline.
How do I apply for Clinical Medical Assistant jobs at Orlando Health?
Applications go through Orlando Health's careers portal, where you can filter by role and location. Orlando Health posts openings across its hospital campuses, outpatient clinics, and specialty practices, so check regularly since listings close quickly. Migrate Mate also aggregates verified Clinical Medical Assistant openings at Orlando Health that include visa sponsorship, which helps you identify the right postings without manually tracking every campus.
Which visa types does Orlando Health commonly sponsor for Clinical Medical Assistant roles?
Orlando Health has sponsored H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for clinical staff. For Clinical Medical Assistants specifically, H-1B and employment-based Green Card sponsorship are the most common long-term pathways. J-1 sponsorship is typical for exchange visitors in structured clinical programs. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose duties meet USMCA-eligible health occupation criteria.
What qualifications does Orlando Health expect for Clinical Medical Assistant roles?
Orlando Health expects an active CMA certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants or an equivalent credential such as the RMA from the American Medical Technologists board. Most postings also require hands-on clinical experience including phlebotomy, vital signs, and EHR documentation. Specialty clinic roles may require experience in a specific discipline such as cardiology, orthopedics, or oncology, which narrows the candidate pool significantly.
How do I handle the timing between an Orlando Health offer and my visa filing?
Request a written offer letter that specifies your start date and employment terms before any visa filing begins. If you're on OPT, confirm your remaining authorized period and apply for OPT extension immediately if eligible. For H-1B filings, USCIS premium processing currently runs 15 business days, which Orlando Health may use to meet urgent start dates. Align your notice period with your current employer against these timelines before accepting.
