Certify Your CMA Credentials Before Applying
CHRISTUS Health's clinical roles require recognized certification, typically through AAMA or NCCT. Confirm your credential is active and transferable to U.S. standards before submitting any application, since an expired or unrecognized cert will stall sponsorship paperwork.
Target Facility Types That Sponsor Consistently
CHRISTUS Health operates both acute-care hospitals and ambulatory clinics. Outpatient and specialty clinic locations tend to post CMA roles with longer-term staffing needs, which aligns better with the multi-year H-1B sponsorship timeline employers are committing to.
Browse Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter CHRISTUS Health's active Clinical Medical Assistant postings by sponsorship type. Seeing which specific locations and departments are hiring lets you prioritize applications where visa sponsorship is already built into the offer process.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During the Offer Stage
Before accepting an offer, confirm whether CHRISTUS Health will cover H-1B filing fees and whether they file for Green Card sponsorship under EB-2 or EB-3. USCIS filing timelines for healthcare support roles can stretch years, so knowing the employer's full commitment upfront matters.
Understand How the LCA Affects Your Start Date
CHRISTUS Health must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition can be submitted to USCIS. DOL certification typically takes seven business days, but delays push your start date back. Factor this into any onboarding timeline you negotiate.
Prepare a Clinical Skills Summary Alongside Your Resume
CHRISTUS Health's hiring teams look for documented hands-on experience: phlebotomy, vital signs, EHR documentation, and patient intake. A one-page clinical skills summary that mirrors the job posting's language strengthens both your interview case and the specialty occupation narrative in your visa petition.

Does CHRISTUS Health sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Medical Assistants?
Yes, CHRISTUS Health has an established pattern of sponsoring H-1B visas for Clinical Medical Assistant roles. Because CMA positions are classified as specialty occupations requiring specific clinical training and certification, they qualify for H-1B sponsorship. Your employer will need to file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition.
Which visa types does CHRISTUS Health use for Clinical Medical Assistant roles?
CHRISTUS Health sponsors both nonimmigrant and immigrant pathways for this role. H-1B is the most common work visa for sponsored CMA positions. On the permanent residency side, employment-based Green Card categories EB-2 and EB-3 are used, with EB-3 being the more typical path for clinical support roles. Your employer's immigration counsel will determine which category fits your qualifications.
What qualifications does CHRISTUS Health expect for sponsored Clinical Medical Assistant positions?
CHRISTUS Health generally expects active CMA certification from a recognized body such as AAMA or NCCT, along with practical clinical experience including phlebotomy, vital signs measurement, and EHR documentation. Some postings specify experience with particular patient populations or specialty departments. Confirming your credentials are recognized under U.S. standards before applying avoids delays in the sponsorship process.
How do I apply for Clinical Medical Assistant jobs at CHRISTUS Health?
Start by browsing current openings through Migrate Mate, which filters CHRISTUS Health's Clinical Medical Assistant postings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can identify roles where sponsorship is active. Once you find a relevant opening, apply directly through CHRISTUS Health's careers portal. In your application, clearly state your certification, clinical experience, and that you require H-1B sponsorship to avoid being screened out early.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Clinical Medical Assistant role at CHRISTUS Health?
The H-1B process typically takes three to six months from petition filing to approval, assuming USCIS standard processing and no Requests for Evidence. DOL Labor Condition Application certification adds roughly seven business days before filing. If you need premium processing, USCIS offers expedited review for an additional fee. Green Card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 runs on a separate, longer timeline that depends on your country of birth and the EB category used.
