Align Your Credentials to Specialty Lines
RLI focuses heavily on specialty insurance products. Before applying, map your actuarial, underwriting, or risk credentials to their core lines so your resume reflects the niche expertise their hiring teams screen for.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open Insurance Roles
Not every open Insurance position at RLI is flagged for sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter RLI's current openings by visa type so you're applying only to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare for Cap-Subject H-1B Deadlines
RLI sponsors H-1B visas, but cap-subject petitions follow USCIS's April registration window. If your current status doesn't allow a cap-exempt transfer, time your application so you're in the selection pool before the March deadline.
Document Foreign Insurance Qualifications for USCIS
If your underwriting or actuarial credentials come from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-member evaluator before RLI initiates your H-1B petition. USCIS scrutinizes foreign degree equivalency in specialty occupation filings.

Find Insurance at RLI Insurance Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does RLI Insurance Company sponsor H-1B visas for Insurances?
Yes, RLI Insurance Company sponsors H-1B visas for Insurance roles. Their sponsorship covers both new cap-subject petitions and transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status. Because cap-subject filings follow USCIS's annual registration window each March, you'll want to align your application timeline with that cycle if you don't already hold an active H-1B.
How do I apply for Insurance jobs at RLI Insurance Company?
You can browse and apply for Insurance roles at RLI Insurance Company directly through their careers page. To find only the roles open to visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to filter RLI's openings by visa type before applying. Tailoring your application to RLI's specialty insurance focus, rather than submitting a generic resume, significantly improves your chances of advancing past initial screening.
Which visa types does RLI Insurance Company commonly use for Insurance roles?
RLI Insurance Company has a sponsorship track record across H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. For Insurance professionals, H-1B and F-1 OPT are the most common entry points, with EB-2 or EB-3 PERM sponsorship available for candidates moving toward permanent residence after establishing themselves in the role.
What qualifications does RLI Insurance Company expect for Insurance roles?
RLI typically looks for candidates with backgrounds in actuarial science, risk management, finance, or a related quantitative field. For specialty underwriting or analytics roles, professional designations like CPCU or progress toward actuarial exams strengthens your profile. Because RLI operates in niche insurance markets, demonstrated knowledge of specialty lines, rather than general property and casualty experience, carries more weight in their evaluation.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at RLI Insurance Company?
Timeline depends on visa type. F-1 OPT authorization can take up to 90 days from your DSO application, so starting early is critical. H-1B cap-subject petitions follow USCIS's October 1 start date after the April registration period. PERM-based Green Card filings typically take one to two years from labor certification through I-140 approval, not accounting for priority date backlogs that may apply to your nationality.
