Tailor your credentials to U.S. insurance licensing standards
USI operates across commercial, personal, and employee benefits lines. Before applying, research whether the roles you're targeting require state-specific producer licenses, and flag any comparable credentials you hold from your home country that may qualify for reciprocity.
Target client-facing roles with revenue accountability
USI's hiring patterns skew toward producers, account executives, and risk consultants who manage client relationships and book of business. Roles with direct revenue impact are easier for employers to justify sponsorship for under specialty occupation requirements.
Verify your visa type aligns with USI's sponsored categories
USI has sponsored E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visa holders. If you're Australian, the E-3 is the strongest fit. Canadian or Mexican nationals should assess TN eligibility under USMCA for insurance-related occupational categories before outreach.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Insurance roles at USI
USI posts a significant volume of insurance positions at any given time across multiple U.S. markets. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles tagged to your eligible visa type so you're only applying to positions aligned with your sponsorship situation.
Secure your OPT or CPT authorization well before your start date
If you're an F-1 student targeting USI through OPT, submit your OPT application to USCIS at least 90 days before your intended start date. CPT must be authorized by your DSO before you accept any internship offer, not after.
Prepare a specialty occupation case for your insurance role
For E-3 and TN filings, your offer letter and LCA must demonstrate the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Generic insurance job titles can create challenges, so work with USI's HR team to ensure the role description reflects the specialty occupation standard.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does USI Insurance Services sponsor H-1B visas for Insurances?
USI Insurance Services' confirmed sponsorship activity covers E-3 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visa categories for insurance roles. H-1B visa sponsorship has not been documented for this function. If you hold H-1B eligibility, clarify sponsorship options directly with USI's HR team during the offer stage, as sponsorship decisions can vary by role and business unit.
How do I apply for Insurance jobs at USI Insurance Services?
Applications go through USI's careers portal, where roles are listed by location and function. You can also find and filter USI's open insurance positions on Migrate Mate, which lets you sort by visa type so you're applying to roles matched to your sponsorship situation. Tailor your resume to reflect insurance-specific experience relevant to the role's line of business.
Which visa types are commonly used for Insurance roles at USI Insurance Services?
USI has sponsored insurance professionals across E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visa categories. Australian citizens typically pursue the E-3 path, while Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN category depending on their specific role. F-1 students entering through OPT or CPT are also a documented pathway, particularly for early-career insurance positions.
What qualifications does USI Insurance Services expect for Insurance roles?
USI's insurance hiring typically emphasizes a bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field, combined with client-facing or analytical experience. For specialty occupation visa filings, the degree must align directly with the role's duties. Candidates with professional insurance designations such as CIC, ARM, or CPCU may strengthen both their application and the specialty occupation argument.
How do I navigate the visa filing timeline when accepting an offer from USI Insurance Services?
Timeline depends on your visa category. E-3 visas are processed at a U.S. consulate abroad and typically take two to four weeks after your LCA is certified by DOL. TN status can be obtained at a port of entry. F-1 OPT requires a USCIS filing at least 90 days before your start date. Confirm which path applies and align your start date accordingly with USI's HR team.
