Align your degree to semiconductor specializations
SiTime's Engineering roles typically require a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field. USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims, so confirm your transcripts show coursework in MEMS, analog circuits, or related disciplines before applying.
Target roles matching your OPT STEM extension
SiTime operates in STEM-designated fields, so F-1 graduates in Electrical or Computer Engineering may qualify for a 24-month OPT extension. Verify the posted role's SOC code aligns with your degree field before your initial 12-month OPT window closes.
Research SiTime's open roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Engineering jobs at SiTime by visa type, so you can identify which open positions have active sponsorship. This saves time compared to screening dozens of listings manually and reaching out to recruiters who can't help.
Prepare a strong technical portfolio for IC or systems roles
SiTime Engineering interviews typically involve circuit design, signal integrity, or firmware problems. Document prior project work with measurable outcomes, patents, or published specs. Concrete technical evidence strengthens both your candidacy and any future USCIS petition documentation.
Understand the PERM timeline if targeting a Green Card
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship requires DOL PERM labor certification, which takes roughly one to two years before USCIS even sees the petition. If SiTime indicates green card sponsorship is available, ask at the offer stage which category applies to your role.

Does SiTime sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, SiTime sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering roles. The company's work in precision timing semiconductors means most positions qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards, typically requiring at least a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a directly related field. Confirm sponsorship availability for a specific role during the recruiter screen, since not every position is approved for sponsorship at the same time.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at SiTime?
Applications go through SiTime's careers page, where Engineering roles are listed by function and location. Migrate Mate also aggregates SiTime's open Engineering positions filtered by visa sponsorship type, which makes it easier to identify relevant openings without reviewing every listing. Tailor your resume to the specific discipline, whether that's IC design, test engineering, or applications, since SiTime hires across several distinct Engineering tracks.
Which visa types does SiTime commonly use for Engineering roles?
SiTime sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Engineering positions, and also supports EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card pathways for longer-term hires. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Engineering categories. OPT and CPT are typically used for early-career or internship hires, while H-1B and Green Card sponsorship applies to full-time positions.
What qualifications does SiTime expect for sponsored Engineering roles?
Most Engineering roles at SiTime require a bachelor's degree at minimum in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely adjacent discipline. Senior and principal-level roles often expect graduate degrees or significant industry experience in semiconductor design, MEMS technology, RF systems, or embedded firmware. USCIS requires that the offered role and your specific degree field directly correspond, so a general engineering degree without relevant coursework can complicate the specialty occupation determination.
How do I plan my timeline if SiTime is sponsoring my H-1B?
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date, following a March registration lottery. If you're on F-1 OPT and your authorization expires before October 1, SiTime would need to evaluate whether a cap-exempt path or OPT extension applies. Start conversations with the recruiting team at least six months before any status deadline to give the employer enough lead time to prepare DOL and USCIS filings.
