Align your stack with StubHub's backend systems
StubHub's platform handles high-throughput ticketing transactions at scale, so experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture directly strengthens your application. Highlight work on reliability, latency, or real-time data pipelines in your resume.
Confirm your visa type before applying
StubHub sponsors multiple visa categories, but your current status shapes which filing path applies. F-1 OPT applicants need to track their cap-gap window carefully if H-1B registration falls within their OPT period, since a gap in work authorization will pause employment.
Search StubHub's open roles on Migrate Mate
Filter by visa type and role on Migrate Mate to surface Backend Software Developer openings at StubHub that are actively open to sponsorship. Applying through a targeted list saves time compared to scanning general job boards where sponsorship eligibility is unclear.
Prepare for a technical loop focused on systems design
StubHub's backend interviews typically include systems design rounds assessing how you'd architect inventory management or seat availability at scale. Practicing distributed systems design problems specific to high-concurrency retail scenarios will set you apart in the later interview stages.
Understand how LCA timing affects your start date
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting an H-1B petition to USCIS. This step adds time before your official start date, so negotiate your offer with that lead time in mind rather than assuming an immediate start.
Flag Green Card interest early with your recruiter
StubHub sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but PERM labor certification timelines are long. Raising your long-term immigration goals during the offer stage, not after onboarding, gives HR time to sequence your H-1B and PERM filings without unnecessary delays.

Find Backend Software Developer at StubHub JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does StubHub sponsor H-1B visas for Backend Software Developers?
Yes, StubHub sponsors H-1B visas for Backend Software Developer roles. The company has a consistent sponsorship history for technical positions, and backend engineering roles typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria. If you're applying from F-1 OPT or another nonimmigrant status, StubHub can initiate the H-1B petition process once you receive and accept an offer.
How do I apply for Backend Software Developer jobs at StubHub?
You can browse current Backend Software Developer openings at StubHub through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles open to visa sponsorship. After identifying a relevant opening, apply directly through StubHub's careers portal. The interview process typically includes a recruiter screen, technical assessments, and a systems design loop before an offer is extended.
Which visa types does StubHub commonly use for Backend Software Developers?
StubHub sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for backend engineering roles. H-1B is the most common path for long-term employment. E-3 applies to Australian citizens and has no lottery. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. F-1 OPT and CPT cover early-career and student candidates.
What qualifications does StubHub expect for Backend Software Developer roles?
StubHub typically looks for experience with Java, Python, or Go alongside hands-on work building distributed systems at scale. Roles often involve high-throughput transactional platforms, so familiarity with message queues, database optimization, and service reliability is relevant. A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field satisfies the specialty occupation requirement USCIS applies to H-1B petitions for these roles.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take if I receive an offer from StubHub?
For H-1B, the timeline depends on whether you need to go through the annual lottery, which opens in March for an October start. Outside the lottery cycle, H-1B transfers and cap-exempt cases can move faster. E-3 consular processing typically runs two to four weeks from interview to stamp. Your offer letter should account for whichever filing timeline applies to your visa category.
