- Own technical quality: Champion system design, code quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability across your domain.
- Foster team health: Build a psychologically safe, inclusive team culture grounded in feedback, autonomy, and shared accountability.
- Partner across the business: Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data to align on priorities, coordinate dependencies, and deliver business-critical initiatives.

- On-time, high-quality delivery of initiatives tied to company objectives.
- Clear evidence of team growth, engagement, and performance.
- Demonstrated improvement in team operational metrics (e.g., velocity, quality, incident reduction).
- A strong pipeline of internal talent and a team that continuously improves its impact-per-head over time.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of engineering experience, including technical ownership of production systems and business-critical software.
- 2+ years of people leadership experience, with a track record of hiring and developing high-performing teams.

- Proven ability to drive execution, define clear success metrics, and solve complex problems with data and rigor.
- Skilled in managing ambiguity, prioritizing ruthlessly, and delivering under tight timelines.
- Comfortable giving and receiving candid feedback, and modeling it for others.

Align your portfolio to marketplace engineering
StubHub's engineering work centers on high-throughput ticketing systems, real-time inventory, and payments infrastructure. Frame your past projects around scale, reliability, or transaction processing to signal direct relevance before you ever apply.
Target teams with recurring engineering openings
StubHub consistently hires across backend, platform, and data engineering. Roles in these areas tend to have the most sponsorship precedent, so prioritize applications there rather than spreading across every open position.
Use Migrate Mate to filter sponsorship-confirmed roles
Not every engineering posting at StubHub will state sponsorship eligibility upfront. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified engineering openings at StubHub that have confirmed visa sponsorship, so you spend time on applications that can actually move forward.
Get your documentation ready before the LCA is filed
Once you have an offer, your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can process your petition. Have your degree transcripts, employment history, and any credential evaluations ready so that process doesn't stall on your end.
Factor the H-1B lottery timeline into your start date
If you need H-1B sponsorship, USCIS only accepts petitions in April for an October 1 start date. Discuss this window with your hiring manager during negotiations so your offer letter reflects a realistic start date, not an arbitrary one.

Find Engineering at StubHub JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does StubHub sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, StubHub sponsors H-1B visas for engineering roles. The process follows the standard USCIS cap-subject timeline, meaning petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, a cap-exempt transfer is possible once you have a valid offer. Confirm sponsorship eligibility directly with the recruiter early in the process.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at StubHub?
Applications go through StubHub's careers page. Before applying, review the role's technical requirements closely, since engineering positions typically specify a preferred stack or system domain. You can also browse sponsorship-confirmed engineering openings at StubHub on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type so you can prioritize applications that match your authorization status.
Which visa types does StubHub commonly use for Engineering roles?
StubHub has sponsored engineering candidates on H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas, as well as Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and career stage. Australian citizens often pursue the E-3 route, while Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles may be eligible for TN status.
What qualifications does StubHub typically expect for Engineering roles?
Most engineering roles at StubHub expect a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B and E-3 sponsorship. Practical experience with distributed systems, APIs, or data infrastructure is commonly cited in job descriptions. Senior roles place heavier weight on system design and cross-functional delivery experience.
How do I time my Engineering job search at StubHub around visa deadlines?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period starts the day your employment ends, not when your OPT expires. Start your StubHub application well before that window closes. For H-1B candidates, USCIS opens registration in March, so having an offer confirmed by late February gives your employer enough runway to participate in the lottery and file on time.
