Align your experience with ticket commerce infrastructure
StubHub's backend systems handle real-time inventory, dynamic pricing, and high-volume transactions. Tailor your resume to highlight distributed systems, API design, or payment processing experience. Retail-scale engineering problems are what their hiring teams are evaluating for.
Target open roles through Migrate Mate
Filter Backend Engineer openings at StubHub by your specific visa type using Migrate Mate. It surfaces roles verified for sponsorship history, so you're not guessing whether a listing will lead to a dead end at the offer stage.
Front-load your sponsorship conversation with recruiters
Bring up your visa status in the first recruiter call, not after the technical rounds. StubHub's talent teams are experienced with sponsorship workflows, and early disclosure lets them route your application through the right internal approval process.
Prepare for PERM timing if you're pursuing permanent residency
If an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card is your long-term goal, understand that PERM labor certification with the DOL typically begins after you've established yourself in the role. Ask your recruiter early whether StubHub initiates PERM sponsorship for Backend Engineers.
Use OPT strategically to build your StubHub candidacy
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period after a role ends leaves little room for error. Line up your StubHub application while still employed, so your timeline stays intact and you're not filing under pressure.

Find Backend Engineer at StubHub JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does StubHub sponsor H-1B visas for Backend Engineers?
Yes, StubHub sponsors H-1B visas for Backend Engineers. The company has an active sponsorship history for engineering roles, and Backend Engineers are among the functions where international hiring is common. Because H-1B sponsorship requires USCIS approval and is subject to the annual cap and lottery, it's worth confirming timing and internal approval processes directly with your recruiter during the offer stage.
Which visa types does StubHub commonly sponsor for Backend Engineers?
StubHub sponsors a range of visa categories for Backend Engineers, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, J-1, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for permanent residency. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and career stage, so clarify your situation with the hiring team early in the process.
What qualifications and experience does StubHub expect for Backend Engineer roles?
StubHub's Backend Engineer roles typically require proficiency in distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and high-throughput data pipelines, reflecting the demands of a live event ticketing platform operating at scale. Experience with Java, Go, or Python is commonly expected, along with familiarity with cloud infrastructure. A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is standard, and it directly supports H-1B specialty occupation classification.
How do I apply for Backend Engineer jobs at StubHub?
Browse current Backend Engineer openings at StubHub through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying. Once you've identified a role, apply directly through StubHub's careers portal. Disclose your visa status on the first recruiter call so their talent team can route your application through the appropriate internal sponsorship approval workflow without delays.
How do I plan my timeline for visa sponsorship at StubHub as a Backend Engineer?
Timeline planning depends on your visa category. H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start, so offers need to be in place well before that window. E-3 and TN visas process faster and aren't cap-subject. If you're on OPT, factor in USCIS processing time for any required extensions. Align your job search cadence to these deadlines rather than treating them as an afterthought.
