Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN eligibility at AECOM depends on your role appearing on the USMCA professions list, not just your degree. Cross-reference your specific job title against that list before applying, since AECOM hires across engineering, geoscience, and management consulting disciplines with different credential requirements.
Target AECOM's technical and infrastructure divisions
AECOM's environmental, transportation, and civil infrastructure teams hire most heavily in TN-eligible occupations. Filter your job search to these practice areas, where roles like environmental scientist, civil engineer, and management consultant align directly with USMCA profession categories.
Request a USMCA-specific offer letter early
AECOM's HR and legal teams handle TN support letters internally, but the letter must specify your profession category, job duties, and anticipated duration. Confirm with your recruiter that the offer letter is prepared for TN admission before you schedule your port of entry or consular appointment.
Verify your prevailing wage position before negotiating
AECOM sets compensation by discipline and geography. Run your target role and location through the OFLC Wage Search before salary discussions, so your offer aligns with what AECOM typically pays for that occupation. A wage significantly below the published level can complicate your TN admission.
Use Migrate Mate to identify AECOM's active TN roles
Migrate Mate surfaces employer TN hiring patterns by occupation and location, so you can see which AECOM divisions are actively hiring for roles you qualify for. Search your O*NET occupation category on Migrate Mate to prioritize your outreach to the right AECOM practice groups.
Prepare for secondary inspection with full documentation
Canadian nationals entering on TN at a land border or airport should carry their AECOM offer letter, degree transcripts, professional licenses, and a resume. CBP officers at secondary inspection routinely request supporting documents beyond the offer letter for engineering and consulting roles at large firms.
AECOM TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does AECOM sponsor TN visas?
AECOM supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals in USMCA-eligible roles, primarily across engineering, environmental science, and management consulting. AECOM issues a support letter confirming the role and profession category. The worker then presents that letter at a port of entry or U.S. consulate. There is no USCIS petition involved in the TN process.
Which AECOM roles and departments typically qualify for TN admission?
AECOM's strongest TN hiring concentrates in civil and environmental engineering, geoscience, hydrology, and management consulting. These disciplines map cleanly to USMCA profession categories. Roles in program management and construction oversight may qualify if the position requires a qualifying degree, but eligibility depends on how the specific job duties are described in the offer letter.
How do I start the TN process after receiving an AECOM offer?
Once AECOM extends an offer, request a USMCA support letter from HR that specifies your profession category, job duties, employer details, and employment duration. Canadian nationals present this letter directly at a port of entry with supporting credentials. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate. No USCIS filing or Labor Condition Application is required. Migrate Mate can help you confirm your role qualifies before you start.
How long does TN admission take when starting at AECOM?
Canadian nationals entering at a port of entry typically receive a TN admission decision the same day, though secondary inspection can extend the process by several hours. Mexican nationals applying at a U.S. consulate face wait times that vary by post and time of year. Once admitted, TN status is granted in three-year increments and can be renewed without numerical limits.
What credentials does AECOM require for TN-supported roles?
Credential requirements vary by role. Engineering positions typically require a degree in a directly related field and, for certain states, a Professional Engineer license. Environmental and scientific roles require a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline. AECOM's offer letter must accurately reflect your credentials and align them to a recognized USMCA profession, so confirm the match with your recruiter before your admission appointment.
How does TN visa admission work at AECOM?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from AECOM, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
