Match your credential to USMCA's professions list
TN eligibility is defined by USMCA, not by A&M's preferences. Your degree must align with a listed profession, Management Consultant is the most common fit for consulting roles. Verify your specific occupation code against O*NET before applying to any position.
Target restructuring and turnaround practice roles
A&M's restructuring and performance improvement practices hire heavily at the analyst and associate levels and have a track record of supporting TN professionals. Leading with these practice areas in your applications increases your odds of reaching a team familiar with TN admission.
Request an offer letter that specifies your USMCA category
The offer letter A&M provides must explicitly state your USMCA profession category, your intended work activities, and the employment period. Border officers at a port of entry review this document directly, so vague or generic letters create unnecessary delays or denials.
Prepare your credentials packet before the offer stage
Canadian nationals can present TN documentation at the border the same day an offer is accepted. Have your degree transcripts, professional licenses, and any credential evaluations ready in advance so you're not scrambling after A&M extends an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to identify A&M's active TN-eligible openings
Search Migrate Mate to find Alvarez & Marsal roles filtered for TN-eligible candidates. The platform surfaces positions by practice area and profession category, so you can prioritize applications where your USMCA credential already aligns with what A&M is hiring for.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search data
TN status doesn't require a prevailing wage certification, but A&M's consulting compensation must still reflect market rates for your role and location. Cross-check your expected offer against OFLC Wage Search figures so you can negotiate from an informed position during the offer stage.
Alvarez & Marsal TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Alvarez & Marsal sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Alvarez & Marsal hires TN professionals across its consulting practices and issues the offer letters Canadian and Mexican nationals need to support TN admission. A&M does not file a petition with USCIS, TN is treaty-based admission under USMCA, so the process is driven by your documentation at the border or consulate, not by an employer filing.
Which roles at Alvarez & Marsal typically qualify for TN status?
The most common qualifying roles fall under the Management Consultant USMCA profession category, which maps to A&M's restructuring, performance improvement, and financial advisory practices. Analyst, associate, and manager-level consulting positions are the most frequently filled by TN professionals. Your specific job duties and degree field must align with a USMCA-listed profession for TN to apply.
How do I start the TN process after A&M extends an offer?
Once A&M issues your offer letter specifying your USMCA profession category and employment details, Canadian nationals present that letter along with their degree credentials and passport at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate abroad. Neither pathway involves USCIS filing or an LCA. Processing is typically same-day at the border for Canadians.
How long does the TN process take at Alvarez & Marsal?
For Canadian nationals, TN admission at a port of entry is usually granted the same day, assuming documentation is complete. Mexican nationals face consular appointment wait times that vary by location and season. A&M's role is limited to preparing the offer letter, timeline from there depends on your nationality and the port or consulate you use.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at Alvarez & Marsal?
