Match your credentials to USMCA professions
Before targeting Belmont University, confirm your role maps to an eligible USMCA profession list category. Education employers commonly support TN admission for teachers, scientists, and research assistants, but your degree must align specifically with the occupation title USCIS recognizes.
Target faculty and research departments directly
Belmont's strongest TN hiring tends to sit in academic departments and research units rather than administrative offices. Reaching out to department chairs or searching faculty job postings filters your search toward roles where TN admission is a realistic outcome for qualified candidates.
Request a detailed offer letter from HR
Belmont University's HR team issues the offer letter you'll present at the border or consulate. Ask explicitly that it states your job title, qualifying USMCA category, salary, and employment start date, since border officers and consular staff verify these details against your credentials.
Benchmark your salary using OFLC Wage Search
Although TN doesn't require a formal prevailing wage filing, Belmont's offer should reflect competitive compensation for your occupation and location. Run your role through the OFLC Wage Search to verify the wage level before accepting an offer and presenting at the port of entry.
Use Migrate Mate to find Belmont's open TN roles
Searching for TN-eligible positions at Belmont University is faster when you filter by visa type and institution. Migrate Mate surfaces education employer hiring history by visa category, so you can identify active openings at Belmont without manually sifting through generic job boards.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation early
Canadian and Mexican nationals applying for TN admission at Belmont must demonstrate their foreign degree is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's in the relevant field. If your credential was issued outside North America or in a non-standard format, get a credential evaluation completed before your border or consulate appointment.
