Match your credentials to USMCA profession categories
Before applying, confirm your degree and job title align with a recognized USMCA profession. Bowman Consulting hires engineers, scientists, and technical consultants, but your specific credentials must map to an eligible category or CBP won't approve admission at the border.
Tailor your resume to Bowman's project types
Bowman focuses on infrastructure, environmental, and geotechnical consulting. Highlight project experience in those areas rather than generic engineering work. Hiring managers in project-based consulting firms assess technical fit tightly, and a misaligned resume rarely advances to an offer letter conversation.
Request a detailed offer letter covering specialty-occupation language
When Bowman extends an offer, ask that the letter explicitly states your professional category, degree requirement, and that the role requires specialized knowledge. CBP officers at the border use this letter to assess TN eligibility, so vague descriptions create unnecessary admission risk.
Prepare your credential documents before your border or consulate visit
Gather your original degree certificates, transcripts, and professional licenses before your admission appointment. Bowman's offer letter alone won't secure TN status. CBP and consular officers expect original credential documents, and missing paperwork causes same-day denials with no grace period to retrieve them.
Search Migrate Mate to identify Bowman's active TN-eligible openings
Use Migrate Mate to filter Bowman Consulting job listings by TN-eligible roles. Migrate Mate surfaces positions verified against USMCA profession categories, saving you from applying to roles where your credentials or title won't qualify for TN admission regardless of employer willingness.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search before negotiating
Run your target role through the OFLC Wage Search before accepting an offer. Consulting firms like Bowman structure compensation by project grade and region. Knowing the prevailing wage for your occupation and work location ensures your offered salary supports a credible TN admission presentation at the border.
Bowman Consulting TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Bowman Consulting sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Bowman Consulting supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals. Because TN is treaty-based under USMCA rather than an employer petition, Bowman's role is to issue a detailed offer letter confirming the role, required credentials, and professional category. You then present that letter at the border or a U.S. consulate to obtain TN status.
Which roles at Bowman Consulting are typically eligible for TN status?
Bowman Consulting primarily hires engineers, environmental scientists, geologists, and technical consultants. Most of these roles map to recognized USMCA profession categories such as engineer or scientist. Roles in project management or business development may qualify depending on your degree, but the title and credential combination must fit a specific USMCA category for CBP to approve admission.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a Bowman Consulting offer?
Once Bowman issues your offer letter, you apply for TN admission directly. Canadian citizens present documents at a U.S. port of entry without a prior visa. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate for a TN visa before traveling. In both cases, bring original degree certificates, transcripts, your offer letter, and any professional licenses relevant to your occupation.
How long does the TN process take when working with Bowman Consulting?
For Canadian citizens, TN admission at the border is typically processed the same day once documentation is complete. Mexican nationals applying through a U.S. consulate should expect a few weeks for visa appointment scheduling, depending on consulate workload. Bowman's offer letter preparation usually takes days rather than weeks, so total timeline is largely driven by consulate availability for Mexican applicants.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at Bowman Consulting?
Search for Bowman Consulting roles on Migrate Mate, which filters listings against TN-eligible USMCA profession categories so you can identify positions where your credentials and title combination is likely to qualify. Cross-check job descriptions against your specific USMCA category before applying, since a role's internal title at Bowman may not match the CBP-recognized profession name you'll use at the border.
How does TN visa admission work at Bowman Consulting?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Bowman Consulting, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
