Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN eligibility is defined by the USMCA professions list, not by job title alone. Cross-reference your degree and role against the list before applying. Engineering, geology, and scientific technician roles are among the categories most relevant to Crawford, Murphy & Tilly's work.
Target infrastructure and civil engineering teams
Crawford, Murphy & Tilly's core practice areas span transportation, water resources, and civil infrastructure. TN candidates with backgrounds in civil, environmental, or structural engineering are most likely to find roles that align with both their credentials and the firm's active project pipeline.
Search verified TN hiring history on Migrate Mate
Before reaching out to Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, use Migrate Mate to review the firm's verified visa-type hiring history by role. It helps you confirm which departments have brought on TN professionals and tailor your outreach to the teams most likely to support your admission.
Request a detailed offer letter covering TN requirements
Your offer letter is your primary document at the border or consulate. Ask Crawford, Murphy & Tilly's HR team to include your job title mapped to the USMCA profession category, your start date, compensation, and a clear statement that the position requires your specific professional credentials.
Prepare for a specialty occupation question at entry
CBP officers evaluate whether your role genuinely requires a USMCA-listed professional. Bring supporting documentation alongside your offer letter: your degree certificate, transcripts, and a brief summary of your duties. Consulting roles sometimes receive closer scrutiny if the scope reads as managerial rather than technical.
Renew TN status before your current period expires
TN status is granted in up to three-year increments and must be renewed if you continue working. Coordinate with Crawford, Murphy & Tilly's HR team at least 90 days before your admission period ends. Renewal can happen at a port of entry or, for status holders, through USCIS.
