Match your degree to USMCA professions
Embry-Riddle hires across engineering, computer science, and scientific research roles that map directly to USMCA's defined TN professions. Cross-reference your credential against the official professions list before applying so your degree field clearly supports the role you're targeting.
Target faculty and research postings first
Embry-Riddle's strongest demand for TN-eligible professionals sits in instructional and research departments, particularly in aerospace, engineering, and technology programs. Filtering your job search to these divisions increases the likelihood that the hiring team already understands TN admission and can issue a compliant offer letter quickly.
Request a detailed offer letter early
Your TN entry depends entirely on Embry-Riddle's offer letter, not a USCIS petition. Ask HR explicitly for a letter that states your job title, USMCA profession category, degree requirement, and full-time or part-time status. Border officers and consular officers review this document closely at the point of admission.
Use Migrate Mate to verify TN role eligibility
Before accepting an offer, confirm that your specific role at Embry-Riddle maps to a recognized USMCA profession. Migrate Mate lets you check employer TN hiring history by occupation so you can walk into the offer conversation with a clear picture of how similar roles have been supported.
Prepare your credential evaluation before the offer stage
Canadian and Mexican nationals with degrees from non-U.S. institutions often need a credential evaluation showing equivalency to a U.S. bachelor's degree. Embry-Riddle's HR team will expect this documentation upfront, so commission your evaluation before the offer stage to avoid delays at the border or consulate.
Know your renewal timeline at Embry-Riddle
TN status is granted in up to three-year increments and must align with your employment contract term. Embry-Riddle typically issues fixed-term academic contracts, so coordinate with HR on your end date and plan your renewal or border re-entry at least 60 days before your current admission period expires.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University sponsor TN visas?
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals by issuing offer letters that meet USMCA requirements. The university does not file a petition with USCIS. Instead, you present Embry-Riddle's offer letter at a U.S. port of entry or consulate to obtain TN status directly, provided your role and degree align with an approved USMCA profession.
Which departments at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University typically hire TN professionals?
Engineering, computer science, and aerospace research are the most active areas, reflecting Embry-Riddle's core academic mission. Faculty positions, research scientist roles, and technical staff openings in these departments align most directly with the USMCA professions list. Administrative and student services roles may qualify depending on the specific job duties and your degree field.
How do I start the TN process after receiving an Embry-Riddle offer?
Once you have a written offer, ask Embry-Riddle HR to prepare a TN support letter that identifies your job title, confirms the USMCA profession category, states your degree requirement, and specifies your start date and employment term. Canadian nationals present this at a land border or airport; Mexican nationals schedule a consular interview. No USCIS filing is involved.
How long does TN admission take when working with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University?
For Canadian nationals entering at a land border or pre-clearance location, TN admission is typically decided the same day. Mexican nationals applying at a U.S. consulate should budget two to four weeks for a visa appointment and processing. Embry-Riddle's HR team can usually prepare the support letter within one to two weeks of a confirmed offer, so factor that into your start date planning.
