Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN admission requires your role to appear on the USMCA professions list and your degree to match directly. Before applying to Gannon University, verify your occupation qualifies by cross-referencing the list and your official transcripts against the specific job title posted.
Target faculty and research postings first
Gannon University's strongest TN hiring patterns fall in academic instruction, scientific research, and computer-related fields. Filter your job search to departments in the sciences, engineering, and professional studies, where TN-eligible specialty occupations are most consistently embedded in posted roles.
Request a TN-specific offer letter early
Gannon's HR team must issue an offer letter stating your TN occupational category, job duties, degree requirement, and employment period. Ask for this document explicitly once an offer is extended, since generic offer letters often omit the details CBP requires at the port of entry.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation
If your credential is from outside the U.S. or Canada, have it evaluated by a NACES-member agency before your border crossing. CBP officers at U.S. ports of entry make real-time admissibility decisions, and an unverified foreign degree can result in a TN denial on the spot.
Use Migrate Mate to find Gannon University TN openings
Searching broadly for higher education TN roles wastes time on employers who won't support the process. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Gannon University and TN-eligible positions, so you're only reviewing roles where the employer already supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican professionals.
Know the difference between Canadian and Mexican TN entry
Canadian nationals apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with Gannon's offer letter and credentials. Mexican nationals must obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate before traveling. Confirm your nationality's correct entry route with USCIS guidance before scheduling anything with Gannon's HR team.
Gannon University TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Gannon University sponsor TN visas?
Gannon University supports TN admission by issuing the required offer letters for qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals. The TN category doesn't involve an employer petition or USCIS filing. Gannon provides documentation confirming the role, duties, degree requirement, and employment terms, which the candidate presents at a U.S. port of entry or consulate.
Which roles at Gannon University typically qualify for TN admission?
Roles in academic instruction, scientific research, engineering, and computer-related fields most commonly align with the USMCA professions list at Gannon University. Positions in the sciences and professional studies departments are consistent fits. Your specific job title and degree must both correspond to a recognized TN occupational category, so verify the match before applying.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a Gannon University job offer?
Once Gannon extends an offer, request a TN-specific offer letter from HR that includes your occupational category, job duties, required degree, and employment period. Canadian nationals then proceed directly to a U.S. port of entry with that letter and supporting credentials. Mexican nationals schedule a consular appointment first. USCIS provides the definitive entry requirements by nationality.
How long does the TN process take when working with Gannon University?
Canadian nationals applying at a port of entry can receive TN admission the same day if documentation is complete. Mexican nationals applying at a U.S. consulate should expect standard nonimmigrant visa processing timelines, which vary by consulate. Gannon's turnaround for issuing the required offer letter depends on their HR workload, so request it as early as possible.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at Gannon University?
Migrate Mate filters Gannon University job listings specifically for TN-eligible roles, saving you from reviewing postings that don't fit the USMCA professions list. Focus your search on departments in sciences, engineering, and professional education, where TN-qualifying specialties are most common. Confirm each role's USMCA occupational category match before contacting Gannon's HR team.
How does TN visa admission work at Gannon University?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Gannon University, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
