Match your credential to USMCA professions
TN eligibility at Holtec turns on whether your degree maps directly to a USMCA-listed profession. Review your transcript against the profession list before applying. A nuclear engineer degree supporting a reactor design role reads far stronger than a general science credential.
Target Holtec's engineering and project teams
Holtec's core work spans nuclear energy, spent-fuel storage, and infrastructure consulting. TN candidates in mechanical, nuclear, electrical, and civil engineering align most naturally with active hiring. Frame your resume around the specific technical discipline rather than general consulting experience.
Request a detailed offer letter covering all TN elements
The offer letter Holtec provides must state your USMCA profession category, the specific duties, your degree requirement, and the employment period. Border officers scrutinize vague letters. Ask HR explicitly to include each element before your port-of-entry appointment.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm Holtec's TN hiring history
Before you invest time in Holtec's application process, verify the company actively supports TN candidates in your occupation. Migrate Mate surfaces employer-level data so you can see which roles and departments have TN history, saving you from pursuing roles unlikely to result in an offer.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search
While TN has no formal prevailing-wage requirement, Holtec's engineering roles are highly specialized. Pull the wage level for your occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search before negotiating. An offer significantly below market can complicate renewal credibility at future border crossings.
Prepare for TN renewal before your current status expires
TN status at Holtec is project-linked, and renewals depend on continued employment in the same USMCA profession. If your role evolves or a project ends, confirm the new duties still qualify before your admission period closes. Canadian nationals can renew directly at the port of entry.
Holtec International TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Holtec International sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Holtec International hires TN professionals by issuing support letters for Canadian and Mexican nationals seeking TN admission. There is no USCIS petition involved. The offer letter Holtec provides documents your role, duties, and USMCA profession category, which you present directly at the border or U.S. consulate.
Which roles at Holtec International typically qualify for TN status?
Holtec's work in nuclear energy, spent-fuel management, and infrastructure consulting creates demand for mechanical, nuclear, electrical, and civil engineers, as well as scientific and technical consultants. These occupations appear on the USMCA professions list and align closely with Holtec's project-driven hiring. General management or administrative roles rarely qualify for TN.
How do I start the TN process after receiving an offer from Holtec International?
Once Holtec issues your offer letter, Canadian nationals present it at a U.S. port of entry along with their passport, degree credentials, and the USCIS TN documentation checklist. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate for a TN visa stamp first. No petition is filed with USCIS before admission.
How long does TN admission take at Holtec International?
For Canadian nationals, TN admission is typically granted at the port of entry the same day, assuming documentation is complete. Mexican nationals face consular appointment wait times that vary by location and season. TN status is granted in up to three-year increments and can be renewed without a cap on total renewals.
How do I find open TN-eligible roles at Holtec International?
Start by identifying Holtec's technical and engineering job postings that map to USMCA-listed professions. Migrate Mate can show you Holtec's hiring patterns by visa type and occupation, helping you focus on departments and roles where TN candidates have been placed. Cross-reference your occupation title with O*NET to confirm credential alignment before applying.
How does TN visa admission work at Holtec International?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Holtec International, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
