Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN eligibility at Lincoln University depends on your role falling within the USMCA professions list. Cross-reference your intended job title against O*NET occupation codes before applying, since roles like teacher, economist, or scientific technician have specific degree requirements that Lincoln's offer letter must reflect.
Target faculty and research postings directly
Lincoln University's TN hires concentrate in academic departments and sponsored research programs. Filter your job search to tenure-track, visiting faculty, and research associate postings, which are the roles most likely to generate a formal offer letter structured for TN admission at the border or consulate.
Request an offer letter built for TN admission
Once you receive an offer, ask HR explicitly for a TN support letter that names your USMCA profession category, your degree field, and your employment start date. Lincoln University's HR team needs to understand you're self-admitting at a port of entry or consulate, not waiting on a USCIS petition.
Prepare credential documentation before your interview
Canadian nationals present their TN package at the border on the day they enter. Have your original degree transcripts, professional license if applicable, and Lincoln's offer letter organized in a single folder. Border officers won't grant time to retrieve missing documents, so gaps in your credential file cause same-day denials.
Use Migrate Mate to find Lincoln University TN roles
Search Migrate Mate to surface Lincoln University job listings filtered for TN-eligible positions. The platform surfaces employer hiring patterns for Canadian and Mexican professionals, so you can prioritize applications to departments that have historically supported TN admission rather than cold-applying across the entire institution.
Confirm your wage meets prevailing wage standards
Even though TN doesn't require an LCA, Lincoln University's offer salary should align with the wage for your role and location. Run your job title through OFLC Wage Search before negotiating compensation, so you can identify whether the offered salary is competitive and defensible if a border officer asks about your employment terms.
Lincoln University TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Lincoln University sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Lincoln University hires Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible USMCA professions and issues offer letters that support TN admission. The university doesn't file a petition with USCIS. Instead, you present Lincoln's offer letter at a U.S. port of entry (Canadians) or at a U.S. consulate (Mexicans) to obtain TN status directly.
Which roles at Lincoln University typically qualify for TN status?
Faculty, visiting professors, research associates, and certain administrative specialists in fields like economics, computer science, and scientific disciplines are the most common TN-eligible roles at Lincoln University. Your job title must correspond to a recognized USMCA profession and your degree must be in a directly related field for TN admission to be approved.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a Lincoln University offer?
After accepting your offer, ask Lincoln University's HR team for a formal TN support letter. That letter, combined with your degree credentials and proof of Canadian or Mexican citizenship, is what you present at the border or consulate. There's no USCIS filing involved, and you can be admitted in TN status the same day you appear, if your documents are complete.
How long does TN admission take for a Lincoln University hire?
Canadian nationals can receive TN admission at a port of entry in a single day, provided all documents are in order. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate and face consulate-specific wait times, which vary by location and season. Neither route involves USCIS adjudication timelines. Migrate Mate can help you identify Lincoln University openings and understand the process before your appointment.
How do I know if my degree qualifies me for TN at Lincoln University?
Your degree must be in a field directly related to the USMCA profession category that matches your role at Lincoln University. A Bachelor of Science in Biology supports a scientific technician role; a general business degree typically does not. Review the USMCA professions list alongside your transcript and cross-check your job title using O*NET to confirm alignment before applying.
How does TN visa admission work at Lincoln University?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Lincoln University, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
