Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN admission at NOVA is limited to roles on the USMCA professions list, so confirm your degree maps directly to a qualifying category like Engineer or Scientist before applying. A mismatch between your credential and the listed profession is the most common reason border officers deny entry.
Target environmental and geotechnical practice areas
NOVA's core work spans environmental assessment, geotechnical engineering, and infrastructure consulting. Engineers and scientists whose backgrounds align with site remediation, compliance testing, or civil infrastructure are most likely to land roles where NOVA routinely issues TN support letters.
Request a detailed offer letter before travel
Before presenting at the port of entry or consulate, confirm your NOVA offer letter specifies your job title matching a USMCA profession, your degree field, the project scope, and employment duration. Officers will deny admission if any of these elements are vague or inconsistent with your credentials.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search
Although TN doesn't require a formal prevailing wage filing, NOVA will offer compensation consistent with industry standards. Use OFLC Wage Search to look up wage levels for your occupation and region before negotiating, so you can evaluate whether an offer reflects fair market rates for your role.
Use Migrate Mate to find active TN roles at NOVA
Searching broadly misses roles where TN admission is practically supported. Use Migrate Mate to filter NOVA Engineering and Environmental job listings by visa type, so you're applying only to positions where the company has demonstrated TN hiring history in consulting and engineering disciplines.
Prepare your credential evaluation before the interview stage
If you hold a Canadian or Mexican engineering degree, have a credential evaluation confirming U.S. equivalency ready before NOVA extends a formal offer. Delays at this stage can push back your port-of-entry date, since NOVA needs to align your start date with project timelines.
NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC sponsor TN visas?
NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC supports TN admission for qualifying Canadian and Mexican professionals by issuing offer letters for eligible USMCA roles. Rather than filing a petition, NOVA provides documentation you present at the border or consulate. Roles in engineering, environmental science, and related technical disciplines are the most common pathways into TN status at NOVA.
Which roles at NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC typically qualify for TN status?
Engineers, environmental scientists, geologists, and technical consultants are the roles most aligned with NOVA's practice areas and the USMCA professions list. Positions in site remediation, geotechnical assessments, environmental compliance, and civil infrastructure consulting are where NOVA most consistently issues TN support letters for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a NOVA Engineering offer?
Once NOVA extends an offer, their HR team prepares a support letter documenting your role, qualifications, and employment terms. Canadian citizens present this letter at a U.S. port of entry for same-day admission. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate and receive a TN visa stamp before traveling. USCIS is not involved in either pathway.
How long does TN admission take when working with NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC?
For Canadian nationals, TN admission happens at the border on the day of travel, assuming your NOVA offer letter and credentials are in order. Mexican nationals face a longer consular appointment process, which can take several weeks depending on post availability. TN status is granted in increments and can be renewed without a cap on total time.
How do I find open TN-eligible jobs at NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC?
Start by searching NOVA's careers page for engineering and environmental roles, then verify the job title maps to a USMCA profession before applying. Migrate Mate lets you filter employer listings by visa type, helping you identify NOVA positions where TN candidates have historically been considered, so you're not spending time on roles that don't fit your status.
How does TN visa admission work at NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
