Match your degree to USMCA professions
NVIDIA hires across highly technical disciplines, but TN status only covers roles on the USMCA professions list. Cross-reference your degree field against that list before applying. A computer engineer and a computer scientist qualify under different categories, and the distinction matters at the border.
Target NVIDIA's research and hardware teams
NVIDIA's GPU architecture, AI research, and systems engineering teams consistently recruit professionals whose credentials align with TN-eligible occupations. Focusing your search on these groups puts you in front of hiring managers who already understand TN admission and won't hesitate at the offer stage.
Request a detailed offer letter early
NVIDIA's offer letter must describe your role, required degree, and that the position is temporary in nature. Ask your recruiter to confirm the letter includes your specific job title and educational requirement before you finalize your border crossing date. Vague letters cause delays at ports of entry.
Verify your wage against OFLC Wage Search
While TN doesn't require a formal prevailing wage filing, NVIDIA's offers for technical roles typically reflect or exceed regional wage levels. Check the OFLC Wage Search for your occupation and location before negotiating. Knowing the prevailing wage strengthens your position and confirms the role is substantive.
Use Migrate Mate to find NVIDIA TN-eligible openings
Migrate Mate filters NVIDIA job listings by visa type, surfacing roles that match TN-eligible occupations at NVIDIA specifically. Use it to identify active openings in departments where TN admission is well understood, so you're not cold-applying to teams unfamiliar with the process.
Prepare O*NET documentation for your occupation
If your role sits in a category where NVIDIA's job description doesn't perfectly mirror the USMCA profession title, print the O*NET occupation profile for your category. Border officers sometimes request evidence that the duties align with a listed profession, and having it ready prevents unnecessary scrutiny.
NVIDIA TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does NVIDIA sponsor TN visas?
NVIDIA supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals by issuing offer letters for qualifying roles. TN isn't a petition NVIDIA files with USCIS. Instead, you present NVIDIA's offer letter at a port of entry or U.S. consulate. NVIDIA's technical hiring across engineering, AI research, and systems roles makes it a practical option for TN-eligible professionals.
Which roles at NVIDIA typically qualify for TN status?
Roles in computer engineering, software engineering, systems analysis, and scientific research are the most common TN-eligible categories at NVIDIA. The role must appear on the USMCA professions list and require a degree in a directly related field. NVIDIA's GPU, AI, and hardware teams are where most TN-eligible positions are concentrated.
How do I start the TN process once NVIDIA extends an offer?
Once NVIDIA extends an offer, ask your recruiter to provide a detailed offer letter specifying your job title, duties, required degree, and the temporary nature of the position. Canadians present this letter at a land port of entry or pre-clearance airport for same-day admission. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate for a TN visa stamp first.
How long does TN admission at NVIDIA typically take?
Canadian nationals can receive TN admission the same day at the port of entry if documentation is complete. Mexican nationals applying through a U.S. consulate face standard visa appointment wait times, which vary by location and time of year. TN status is granted in three-year increments and can be renewed indefinitely with continued NVIDIA employment.
How do I find TN-eligible jobs at NVIDIA?
Migrate Mate lets you search NVIDIA's open positions filtered by TN visa compatibility, so you can focus on roles where your occupation and degree already align with USMCA requirements. Cross-reference any role you identify with the O*NET occupation profile for that category to confirm the duties match before you apply.
How does TN visa admission work at NVIDIA?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from NVIDIA, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
