Match your credentials to USMCA professions
TN admission requires your role to appear on the USMCA professions list, not just your job title. Cross-reference Olsson's posted roles against the official list before applying, and confirm your degree field aligns with the specific occupational category, not just the industry.
Research Olsson's engineering and consulting teams
Olsson hires TN professionals most actively in civil, structural, and environmental engineering disciplines. Target open roles in those practice areas first, since hiring managers in those departments are more familiar with TN admission requirements and the offer letter process your admission depends on.
Request a TN-specific offer letter early
Olsson's HR team must issue an offer letter confirming your role, employer details, and the relevant USMCA profession category before you present at the border or consulate. Ask HR explicitly for a TN support letter during the offer stage, not after you've already accepted.
Use Migrate Mate to verify Olsson's sponsorship history
Before investing time in Olsson's interview process, verify their actual TN hiring activity by profession. Migrate Mate surfaces employer-level sponsorship data so you can confirm Olsson hires in your specific role category, not just TN-eligible candidates in general.
Prepare your credential evaluation before interviews
Canadian and Mexican degrees may need credential evaluation to demonstrate equivalency to a U.S. bachelor's degree in your field. Olsson's consulting practice sets a high technical bar, so having an official evaluation ready before your final interview round removes a common last-minute bottleneck.
Know your port-of-entry versus consulate path
Canadian nationals present their TN documentation directly at a U.S. port of entry with no advance visa stamp required. Mexican nationals must schedule a consulate interview first. Knowing which path applies to you affects how you time your start date conversation with Olsson's hiring team.
Olsson, Inc. TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Olsson, Inc. sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Olsson, Inc. supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals in eligible USMCA roles. The company issues offer letters that TN candidates use at a U.S. port of entry or consulate. TN is not an employer-filed petition, so no USCIS filing or LCA is required on Olsson's part.
Which roles at Olsson, Inc. typically qualify for TN admission?
Olsson's strongest TN hiring is in engineering disciplines, particularly civil, structural, environmental, and geotechnical roles, along with technical consulting positions. Your role must map to a recognized USMCA profession category. Use O*NET to verify the occupational classification before applying and confirm the match with Olsson's HR team during the offer stage.
How do I start the TN process after receiving an offer from Olsson, Inc.?
Once Olsson extends an offer, request a TN support letter from their HR team that specifies your role, the USMCA profession category, your anticipated start date, and employment terms. Canadians present this letter with supporting credentials at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals use it to apply for a TN visa stamp at a U.S. consulate.
How long does TN admission take when working with Olsson, Inc.?
For Canadian nationals entering at a port of entry, TN admission is typically processed on the day of entry, often within a few hours. Mexican nationals face longer timelines due to consulate scheduling, which can run several weeks. Plan your start date with Olsson accordingly and build buffer time for document preparation and any consulate queue delays.
How do I find open TN-eligible roles at Olsson, Inc.?
Search Olsson's careers page and filter for engineering and consulting openings in your discipline. Migrate Mate also surfaces Olsson's sponsorship activity by role type, helping you identify which positions align with active TN hiring. Confirm USMCA profession eligibility against your specific role title before advancing through the interview process.
How does TN visa admission work at Olsson, Inc.?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Olsson, Inc., while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
