Align your credentials to USMCA roles
Osborn Engineering's consulting work draws on engineers, architects, and technical specialists listed in the USMCA professions schedule. Before applying, verify your specific job title maps to an eligible TN category using O*NET, since mismatched titles are the most common reason TN admission gets questioned at the border.
Request a role-specific offer letter
Osborn's offer letter is your primary TN document, so ask HR to specify your USMCA profession category, intended duties, and employment period explicitly. Generic offer letters that omit the profession classification create delays at the port of entry and can result in deferred admission.
Target teams with active project pipelines
Osborn Engineering's structural, transportation, and civil consulting divisions tend to carry the most consistent staffing needs. Applying to roles tied to active infrastructure or development projects increases the likelihood your position has defined duties that satisfy TN specialty requirements, rather than broad generalist descriptions that invite scrutiny.
Search Osborn's TN hiring history on Migrate Mate
Before reaching out to Osborn's recruiters, use Migrate Mate to review the company's visa sponsorship history across relevant engineering and consulting roles. That context helps you identify which departments have hired internationally before and tailor your outreach to the right hiring managers.
Prepare your Canadian or Mexican documentation correctly
Canadian citizens present TN documentation directly at a U.S. port of entry without a prior visa application. Mexican citizens must obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate first. Confirm with Osborn's HR which process applies to you so you request the correct supporting letter format before your travel or consulate appointment.
Verify prevailing wage expectations before negotiating
TN status doesn't require a formal prevailing wage filing, but Osborn's compensation offers for technical roles still reflect market rates in the consulting sector. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check wage levels for your occupation and location so you enter salary negotiations with realistic benchmarks and don't undervalue your offer.
Osborn Engineering TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Osborn Engineering sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Osborn Engineering supports TN admission for qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals in USMCA-eligible roles. The company issues offer letters that workers present at the port of entry or U.S. consulate. TN support is most common in engineering, architecture, and technical consulting positions that align directly with the USMCA professions list.
Which roles at Osborn Engineering typically qualify for TN admission?
Structural engineers, civil engineers, architects, and technical consultants are among the positions most commonly supported for TN admission at Osborn. Because TN eligibility depends on the USMCA professions schedule, roles must carry a job title and set of duties that map to a recognized category. General management or business development roles typically don't qualify.
How do I start the TN process after receiving an offer from Osborn Engineering?
Once Osborn extends an offer, request a detailed support letter specifying your USMCA profession category, job duties, and employment period. Canadian citizens then present that letter at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican citizens use it to apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate through USCIS. No employer petition or USCIS filing is required on Osborn's side.
How long does TN admission take when working with Osborn Engineering?
For Canadians, TN admission happens at the port of entry and typically takes under an hour if documents are complete. For Mexican nationals, consulate appointment wait times vary by location and season. Osborn's HR team can issue the offer letter quickly once a position is confirmed, so the bottleneck is usually the consulate appointment, not internal processing.
How do I find open TN-eligible positions at Osborn Engineering?
Use Migrate Mate to search Osborn Engineering's current openings filtered by visa sponsorship type, which helps you identify roles in engineering and consulting that align with TN-eligible categories. Cross-reference each job description against the USMCA professions list before applying to confirm your specific title and duties meet TN admission requirements.
How does TN visa admission work at Osborn Engineering?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Osborn Engineering, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
