Match your credential to a USMCA profession
Before applying, verify your degree and job title align with a specific occupation on the USMCA TN professions list. Tetra Tech hires across engineering and environmental disciplines, so confirm your credential maps directly to the role's listed profession, not just the industry.
Target project-based technical roles first
Tetra Tech's consulting structure means most TN hires sit within project delivery teams in environmental, civil, or infrastructure services. Prioritize openings that list deliverable-based responsibilities, since these roles tend to have clearer specialty occupation framing for TN admission at the border.
Request a detailed support letter from Tetra Tech
Your offer letter must state your job title, USMCA profession category, duties, salary, and employment period. Ask Tetra Tech's HR team to reference the specific USMCA profession classification explicitly. A vague letter is the most common reason CBP officers ask questions or delay admission.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Tetra Tech's TN hiring history
Cross-referencing Tetra Tech's verified hiring activity by occupation helps you target the teams most likely to support TN candidates. Migrate Mate surfaces this employer-level data so you can prioritize roles with the strongest precedent before you invest time in the application process.
Prepare credential documents before your border appointment
CBP officers at the port of entry evaluate your qualifications on the spot. Bring your degree transcripts, professional engineering license if applicable, and a copy of your offer letter. Canadian nationals don't need a visa stamp, so the border crossing is your actual admission point.
Understand that TN status is role-specific, not employer-wide
If Tetra Tech reassigns you to a materially different project or role after admission, your TN classification may no longer cover the new duties. Clarify with your hiring manager whether your role description could shift, and ask HR about their process for updating your status if responsibilities change.
Tetra Tech TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Tetra Tech sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Tetra Tech supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying USMCA professions. The company issues offer letters that TN candidates present at a U.S. port of entry or consulate. Eligible roles typically sit in Tetra Tech's engineering, environmental science, and technical consulting practices, where USMCA-listed occupations are common.
Which departments at Tetra Tech are most likely to hire TN professionals?
Tetra Tech's environmental services, civil and infrastructure engineering, and water management divisions align most closely with USMCA TN professions. These teams regularly hire engineers, scientists, and technical specialists whose credentials map directly to listed occupations. Corporate functions like finance or HR are less likely to qualify under the TN professions list.
How do I start the TN process after receiving a Tetra Tech offer?
Once Tetra Tech issues a formal offer letter, Canadian nationals present it directly at a U.S. port of entry without a prior visa appointment. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate abroad. In both cases, USCIS is not involved. Your offer letter, degree credentials, and any professional licenses are the core documents CBP or consular officers will review.
How long does TN admission take at Tetra Tech?
For Canadian nationals, admission at the port of entry typically takes a few hours on the day of crossing, assuming documents are complete. Mexican nationals face longer consular processing timelines, which vary by location and appointment availability. TN status is initially granted for up to three years and can be renewed indefinitely as long as you remain in a qualifying role.
How do I find open TN-eligible roles at Tetra Tech?
Search Tetra Tech's careers page filtering by engineering and environmental science disciplines, then verify each role's duties align with a USMCA TN profession before applying. Migrate Mate can help you identify which Tetra Tech roles have a history of supporting TN candidates, so you focus your effort on positions where the pathway is already well established.
How does TN visa admission work at Tetra Tech?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Tetra Tech, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
