Match your credentials to USMCA occupations
TN admission requires your role to appear on the USMCA professions list. Before applying to Walker Consultants, cross-reference your degree and job title against that list using O*NET to confirm your occupation qualifies and your credentials align precisely.
Request an offer letter early
Walker Consultants issues the offer letter you'll present at the port of entry or consulate. Ask your recruiter to confirm the letter specifies your USMCA occupation category, employer details, and employment duration before you schedule any border or consular appointment.
Prepare for consulting-specific role scrutiny
Border officers sometimes question consulting roles about project scope and client relationships. Bring documentation showing your specific deliverables, your degree, and how your work at Walker Consultants ties directly to a recognized USMCA profession rather than general business management.
Benchmark your salary against prevailing wages
While TN has no formal LCA requirement, Walker Consultants will offer compensation reflecting market rates for your role and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to verify your offered salary meets regional prevailing wage levels before accepting, so you enter negotiations informed.
Search verified TN roles using Migrate Mate
Identifying consulting firms that actively hire TN professionals takes real data. Migrate Mate surfaces Walker Consultants roles filtered by visa type, so you can target open positions where TN admission is already part of the hiring conversation rather than a surprise request.
Plan your TN renewal timing carefully
TN status is granted in three-year increments and can be renewed indefinitely, but renewals are not automatic. Coordinate with Walker Consultants at least 60 days before your current period ends to ensure your offer letter is updated and your renewal is filed without a gap.
Walker Consultants TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Walker Consultants sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Walker Consultants supports TN admission for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying consulting and professional services roles. The company issues offer letters that TN candidates present at the port of entry or U.S. consulate. There is no USCIS petition involved, as TN is a treaty-based admission category under USMCA.
Which roles at Walker Consultants typically qualify for TN?
Roles in engineering, management consulting, scientific analysis, and related professional services are the most common TN-eligible positions at Walker Consultants. Your specific job title and duties must align with an occupation on the USMCA professions list, and your degree must match that occupation directly. Generalist business roles without a USMCA-listed profession designation typically do not qualify.
How do I start the TN process at Walker Consultants?
After receiving a job offer, ask your Walker Consultants recruiter or HR contact to issue a TN support letter. That letter should specify your USMCA occupation, role description, employer details, and intended employment period. Canadian nationals present it at a port of entry. Mexican nationals use it to apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate before entering.
How long does TN approval take at the border or consulate?
Canadian nationals applying at a land port of entry can receive TN admission the same day, often within a few hours. Mexican nationals applying at a U.S. consulate face standard visa appointment wait times, which vary by location and time of year. Neither route involves USCIS processing times, making TN one of the faster work authorization paths available.
How do I find open TN positions at Walker Consultants?
Migrate Mate lists Walker Consultants roles filtered by visa type, making it straightforward to find positions where TN admission is already part of the hiring process. You can also monitor Walker Consultants's careers page directly and indicate your TN status early in the application to avoid delays with hiring teams unfamiliar with treaty-based admission.
How does TN visa admission work at Walker Consultants?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Walker Consultants, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
