Match your degree to USMCA professions exactly
TN admission hinges on a direct match between your degree field and the USMCA profession category. For Weston & Sampson roles, engineering and environmental science titles require credentials that mirror the listed profession precisely, not just a related field.
Target project-specific job postings at Weston & Sampson
Weston & Sampson hires around active infrastructure and environmental projects, so postings tied to specific contracts move faster than general openings. Applying when a team is staffing a new project improves your odds of reaching the offer stage.
Request a detailed offer letter before traveling
Your TN admission depends on the offer letter Weston & Sampson provides at the border or consulate. Confirm it specifies your job title, the USMCA profession category, your start date, and that employment is temporary before you travel.
Verify your wage against OFLC Wage Search benchmarks
Although TN doesn't require a formal prevailing wage filing, border officers can question compensation that falls well below market. Check the OFLC Wage Search for your occupation and location before accepting an offer from Weston & Sampson.
Use Migrate Mate to find open TN roles quickly
Searching firm by firm for TN-compatible postings is slow. Migrate Mate filters job listings by employers with TN hiring history in consulting and engineering, so you can focus on Weston & Sampson openings already suited to your USMCA profession.
Prepare your O*NET occupation profile before the interview
Hiring managers at professional services firms often aren't TN experts. Bringing your O*NET occupation profile to the interview clarifies how your role maps to a USMCA profession and removes ambiguity that can delay your offer letter.
Weston & Sampson TN Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Weston & Sampson sponsor TN visas?
Yes, Weston & Sampson hires TN professionals in engineering, environmental science, and related consulting roles. Because TN is treaty-based admission rather than an employer petition, the company supports the process by issuing a qualifying offer letter that you present at a U.S. port of entry or consulate, not by filing paperwork with USCIS on your behalf.
Which roles at Weston & Sampson typically qualify for TN admission?
Roles in civil and environmental engineering, geology, urban planning, and scientific consulting align with USMCA profession categories that Weston & Sampson regularly fills. Your specific job title and degree field must match a listed USMCA profession, so confirm the mapping before applying. Roles in general project management or business administration typically do not qualify.
How do I start the TN process after receiving an offer from Weston & Sampson?
Once Weston & Sampson extends a written offer, request a letter that names your USMCA profession category, describes your duties, confirms temporary employment, and states your start date. Canadian citizens present this letter directly at the border. Mexican citizens apply at a U.S. consulate and receive a TN visa stamp before entering. No USCIS petition is involved for either nationality.
How long does TN admission take for a Weston & Sampson position?
Canadian citizens can receive TN admission on the same day at a port of entry, making the timeline from offer to work authorization very short. Mexican citizens must schedule and attend a consular interview, which adds weeks depending on appointment availability. In both cases, the speed depends on having a complete, clearly worded offer letter from Weston & Sampson.
How do I find open TN-compatible jobs at Weston & Sampson?
Start by searching Weston & Sampson's careers page for engineering and environmental titles that match your USMCA profession. Migrate Mate can also surface Weston & Sampson listings filtered by TN-eligible roles in the consulting and professional services sector, saving you time identifying which postings are realistic for your visa status before you apply.
How does TN visa admission work at Weston & Sampson?
TN status is granted under the USMCA treaty — there is no USCIS petition or Labor Condition Application required. Canadian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with an offer letter from Weston & Sampson, while Mexican citizens must first obtain a TN visa at a U.S. consulate. The role must match one of the professions listed in USMCA Appendix 1603.D.1. Migrate Mate filters TN job listings to roles that fall within the eligible profession list.
