Align your credentials with USDA requirements
Food processing facilities operating under USDA oversight require workers to meet specific food safety certifications. Securing HACCP or SQF credentials before applying signals to Tyson hiring managers that you can step into a regulated production environment without additional training time.
Target plant-level roles over corporate postings
Tyson's Manufacturing sponsorships are concentrated at individual processing plants, not headquarters. Search by facility location in states like Arkansas, Iowa, and Kansas, where food manufacturing operations are densest and hiring demand for production roles runs consistently throughout the year.
Clarify TN eligibility before your first interview
Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or scientific roles can enter on a TN visa without waiting on a lottery. If your Manufacturing role falls under an eligible TN category, confirm that classification with a qualified immigration attorney before your offer stage, not after.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active sponsorship openings
Tyson posts Manufacturing roles across dozens of facilities, making it hard to isolate positions with active sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Tyson Manufacturing jobs tied to the visa types you're eligible for, saving time you'd otherwise spend manually screening postings.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting any offer
Large food and beverage employers like Tyson are required to use E-Verify to confirm work authorization. Before signing an offer, verify that the specific plant or subsidiary entity extending your offer is enrolled, since Tyson operates through multiple legal entities across its facility network.

Find Manufacturing at Tyson Foods JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Tyson Foods sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturings?
Tyson Foods' primary Manufacturing sponsorships center on EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visa types rather than H-1B. Manufacturing roles in food processing tend to be classified as production or trades positions, which often fall outside the specialty occupation definition USCIS requires for H-1B eligibility. Engineering and quality systems roles at Tyson may be more likely to qualify, so it depends on the specific job title and duties.
How do I apply for Manufacturing jobs at Tyson Foods?
Applications go through Tyson Foods' careers portal, where you can filter by department and location. Manufacturing roles are posted at the plant level, so searching by facility state rather than just job title returns more relevant results. Migrate Mate also aggregates Tyson's sponsorship-eligible Manufacturing openings in one place, letting you filter by visa type before you apply, which saves time during your job search.
Which visa types does Tyson Foods commonly use for Manufacturing roles?
Tyson's Manufacturing sponsorships most commonly cover F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for students and recent graduates in food science, industrial engineering, or supply chain programs. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical classifications. For longer-term sponsorship, Tyson supports EB-3 and EB-2 Green Card pathways through the DOL PERM labor certification process for eligible roles.
What qualifications does Tyson Foods expect for sponsored Manufacturing positions?
Tyson typically looks for candidates with backgrounds in food science, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or operations management for sponsored Manufacturing roles. Hands-on experience in a regulated food processing or consumer goods environment carries significant weight, as does familiarity with USDA and FDA compliance standards. Certifications in HACCP, Lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma strengthen your application, particularly for quality and continuous improvement roles where sponsorship is more common.
How do I plan my timeline if I'm on OPT and targeting a Tyson Manufacturing role?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your initial authorization window is 12 months, with a possible 24-month STEM extension if your degree qualifies. Tyson's EB-3 sponsorship through PERM adds roughly one to two years before an I-140 petition is filed, so starting the conversation about long-term sponsorship early in your employment is practical. Confirm your STEM OPT eligibility and USCIS extension deadlines before accepting an offer so your timeline aligns with Tyson's internal sponsorship process.
