Target roles that align with core research functions
Ultima Genomics focuses on genomic sequencing technology, so roles in computational biology, instrument engineering, and assay development are most likely to attract sponsorship. Prioritize applications where your technical background directly supports their sequencing platform work.
Understand which visa types they support
Ultima Genomics has sponsored H-1B and Green Card petitions, alongside F-1 OPT, CPT, and TN visas. Knowing this range helps you assess fit early, especially if you're on OPT and need a seamless transition to long-term status.
Plan for the H-1B lottery timeline if you're on OPT
If you need H-1B sponsorship, start conversations with Ultima Genomics well before the April lottery registration window. Biotech companies often plan headcount months in advance, so early engagement improves your chances of being included in their cap-season filings.
Highlight specialized scientific credentials prominently
For a Science and Research company like Ultima Genomics, your advanced degree or niche technical expertise is your strongest sponsorship case. Employers in this space are more willing to sponsor when the candidate's qualifications are genuinely hard to find domestically.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified open roles
Sponsorship history matters, but so does finding live openings. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your search on companies like Ultima Genomics that have demonstrated willingness to sponsor international talent.
Research the Green Card pathway before accepting an offer
Ultima Genomics has pursued Green Card sponsorship, which matters for long-term planning. Before signing, ask whether they support EB-2 or EB-3 petitions and at what stage. In research-driven biotech, this conversation is standard and rarely catches employers off guard.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ultima Genomics sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Ultima Genomics sponsors H-1B visas. They have a track record of filing H-1B petitions for specialized roles, particularly in scientific and research functions. If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, focus on positions where your technical expertise aligns closely with their genomic sequencing work, and engage early ahead of the annual cap-season registration window in March.
What visa types does Ultima Genomics sponsor?
Ultima Genomics sponsors a range of visa types including H-1B, Green Card (EB-2 and EB-3), F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas. This breadth is useful for candidates at different stages of their immigration journey, from students on OPT looking for their first employer to experienced researchers seeking permanent residency sponsorship.
Which roles at Ultima Genomics are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Ultima Genomics tends to concentrate in technical and scientific roles that directly support their core genomic sequencing platform. Think positions in computational biology, bioinformatics, instrument engineering, assay development, and research science. Roles requiring highly specialized credentials are stronger sponsorship candidates, as the employer's case for hiring internationally is easier to justify when domestic talent is limited.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Ultima Genomics?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find currently open, sponsorship-verified roles at companies like Ultima Genomics. You can filter by visa type and sponsorship history to confirm they're actively hiring international candidates before investing time in an application. Checking directly on Ultima Genomics's careers page alongside Migrate Mate gives you the most complete picture of available openings.
How do I approach Ultima Genomics about Green Card sponsorship?
Ultima Genomics has a history of sponsoring Green Cards, so it's a reasonable topic to raise during the offer negotiation stage. Be direct but professional: ask whether the company supports EB-2 or EB-3 petitions and what the typical timeline looks like after joining. In the Science and Research sector, permanent residency sponsorship is a standard part of talent retention conversations, particularly for roles requiring advanced degrees.
