Align your credentials to Zscaler's infrastructure environment
Zscaler's Mechanical Technicians support data center hardware in a cloud-native environment. Certifications in HVAC, electrical systems, or data center facilities management make your profile relevant to their specific operational context, not just general mechanical work.
Identify open roles before your OPT clock starts
F-1 graduates on OPT have a limited window before STEM extension or cap-gap protection becomes critical. Targeting Zscaler's Mechanical Technician openings early gives you time to negotiate a start date that keeps your status intact through the I-129 filing cycle.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Technology companies sometimes distinguish between sponsoring H-1B transfers and filing new cap-subject petitions. Ask your recruiter directly whether Zscaler will file a new H-1B or only support a transfer, so you understand what the timeline looks like before you resign from a current role.
Prepare your documentation for DOL wage compliance
For H-1B and E-3 filings, Zscaler's legal team will need to certify your offered wage meets the DOL prevailing wage for your specific work location. Have your job duties documented clearly so the Labor Condition Application reflects your actual Mechanical Technician responsibilities accurately.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Mechanical Technician openings by visa type
Not every Zscaler job posting specifies which visa categories the role supports. Migrate Mate lets you filter by visa type so you can surface Mechanical Technician positions that match your current status, whether that is TN, E-3, or H-1B.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before your start date
As a federal contractor, Zscaler is required to use E-Verify for employment eligibility. If you are transitioning from F-1 OPT to a new status, confirm your Form I-94 and EAD details are updated before your first day to avoid work authorization delays at onboarding.

Find Mechanical Technician at Zscaler JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Zscaler sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanical Technicians?
Yes, Zscaler sponsors H-1B visas for Mechanical Technician roles. The role qualifies as a specialty occupation when it requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, facilities management, or a closely related field. Your offered salary will need to meet the DOL prevailing wage for your work location, which Zscaler's legal team verifies through the Labor Condition Application process before USCIS filing.
How do I apply for Mechanical Technician jobs at Zscaler?
You can browse and apply for Mechanical Technician positions at Zscaler directly through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters open roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect hands-on experience with data center hardware, HVAC, or electrical systems, since Zscaler's Mechanical Technician function supports physical infrastructure for a global cloud network.
Which visa types does Zscaler commonly sponsor for Mechanical Technician roles?
Zscaler sponsors several work visa categories for Mechanical Technician positions, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering classifications, and Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3. F-1 OPT and CPT candidates working toward permanent sponsorship are also supported. The right category depends on your nationality, degree field, and career stage.
What qualifications does Zscaler expect for Mechanical Technician positions?
Zscaler's Mechanical Technician roles typically require hands-on experience with data center infrastructure, including cooling systems, power distribution, and hardware installation or maintenance. A degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline is generally expected for visa sponsorship to apply. Familiarity with facilities management standards and the ability to work in a 24/7 critical operations environment are practical requirements that come up consistently in these postings.
How do I plan my timeline around a visa filing for a Zscaler Mechanical Technician role?
The timing depends on your visa category. H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date, so you need an offer well before that window. E-3 and TN visas can be processed at a consulate or port of entry with shorter lead times, often two to six weeks. If you are on F-1 OPT, confirm your program end date and any STEM extension eligibility before accepting an offer, since USCIS processing for a change of status can take several months.
