Tips for Finding Business Development Jobs at Zscaler
Frame Your Experience Around Enterprise Sales Cycles
Zscaler's Business Development roles focus on pipeline generation for complex, multi-stakeholder deals. Tailor your resume to show experience qualifying enterprise accounts or working alongside account executives in long sales cycles, not transactional or SMB environments.
Verify Your Visa Type Matches the Role Level
H-1B and E-3 sponsorship for Business Development positions typically requires a specialty occupation determination. Make sure your degree field aligns with the role's qualifications, since a general business degree may face more scrutiny than a technical or finance-related credential.
Target Zscaler's Named Account and SLED Teams
Zscaler posts Business Development roles across several segments, including public sector and named enterprise accounts. These teams often have longer hiring runways, which gives more lead time for the employer to initiate an LCA with the DOL before your current status expires.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsorship Roles
Sorting through job boards for genuine sponsorship openings wastes time. Migrate Mate surfaces Business Development roles at companies with confirmed sponsorship histories, so you can focus your applications on Zscaler positions where visa support is already established practice.
Raise Sponsorship Early in Recruiter Conversations
Zscaler recruiters move quickly once a candidate clears the initial screen. Disclose your visa requirement in the first recruiter call rather than after offer stage, so the team can loop in HR and confirm sponsorship eligibility before you invest time in multiple interview rounds.
Understand the LCA Filing Timeline for Your Start Date
If you're transitioning from OPT or another employer's H-1B, your start date depends on when Zscaler files the Labor Condition Application with the DOL and submits the I-129 to USCIS. Cap-exempt filings can start immediately, but H-1B cap-subject transfers follow a different timeline.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Zscaler sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Zscaler sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The process requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning the position must typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. Zscaler's HR team works with immigration counsel to file the Labor Condition Application with the DOL and the I-129 petition with USCIS on the employee's behalf.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Zscaler?
Applications go through Zscaler's careers portal, where Business Development roles are listed by segment and region. You can also find and filter verified sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which surfaces Zscaler's active postings alongside the company's sponsorship history. When applying, tailor your materials to the specific segment, whether enterprise, commercial, or public sector, since each team has distinct expectations.
Which visa types does Zscaler commonly sponsor for Business Development roles?
Zscaler sponsors multiple visa categories for Business Development positions, including H-1B, E-3 visa for Australian citizens, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students in eligible programs. For candidates pursuing longer-term pathways, Zscaler also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, typically after an employee has been in role for some time and the employer initiates the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications and experience does Zscaler expect for Business Development roles?
Zscaler's Business Development positions generally require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, along with experience in pipeline generation or inside sales, ideally within enterprise software or cloud security. Familiarity with CRM tools, structured outbound methodologies, and the ability to engage technical decision-makers at large organizations are consistently valued across postings. Prior experience in a SaaS or cybersecurity environment strengthens your application significantly.
How do visa sponsorship timelines affect starting a Business Development role at Zscaler?
Timeline depends heavily on your current status. If you're transferring an existing H-1B from another employer, Zscaler can file a portability petition and you can start once it's received by USCIS. If you need a new H-1B cap-subject filing, you'd be subject to the April lottery with an October 1 start date. E-3 and TN sponsorship move faster since they don't require USCIS approval before starting, making them practical options for eligible candidates.
