SUMMARY: The Compensation Manager is responsible for researching, establishing and maintaining the company’s pay system. This involves researching and understanding the current and upcoming competitive markets for team member pay. The Compensation Manager is also responsible for ensuring that pay rates are fair and equitable in order to retain and recruit team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop and evolve George’s pay scales and structures.
- Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance.
- Ensure that George’s pay scales comply with changing state and federal laws and regulations.
- Provide advice to management on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation, including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation related programs.
- Work with managers to help develop promotion and retention strategies for existing employees.
- Develop a department budget and keep operations within that budget.
- Develop techniques for compiling preparing and presenting data.
- Supervise the participation in, conduct and/or purchases exempt and nonexempt salary surveys to ensure compensation objective are achieved.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounting, Human resources or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 6 years of progressively responsible experience in compensation
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar certification
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential
