Construction Manager Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction manager job in Atlanta?
Focus on Atlanta's busiest hiring sectors: commercial real estate development, infrastructure projects tied to GDOT and MARTA expansion, and the wave of mixed-use builds reshaping Midtown and the Westside. General contractors and large development firms concentrated along the I-285 corridor and Downtown core hire most actively. Candidates with LEED accreditation, BIM proficiency, or experience managing subcontractors on urban infill projects stand out in Atlanta's market.
Which companies hire construction managers in Atlanta?
Atlanta construction manager roles are posted by Turner & Townsend Pty Limited, CRH, and Hoar and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Atlanta's market includes a mix of national general contractors with regional offices, local development firms, and public-sector owners managing transit and civic infrastructure projects.
Are there remote construction manager jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though options are limited since most construction manager roles require on-site presence to oversee crews, inspect work, and coordinate with subcontractors. About 54% of construction manager openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, typically covering pre-construction planning, estimating, and owner's representative roles where field oversight is handled by others.
How can I get a construction manager job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is starting as a project engineer or assistant superintendent with a mid-size general contractor, where hands-on site exposure accelerates your progression. Atlanta-based firms supporting Georgia DOT and MARTA projects often hire entry-level candidates with construction management degrees from Georgia Tech or Southern Polytechnic. Completing an internship with a local developer or commercial GC before graduating dramatically improves your chances of a direct hire.
Which industries hire the most construction managers in Atlanta?
Atlanta construction manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Manufacturing, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Atlanta's sustained population growth, active transit expansion, and ongoing commercial development in neighborhoods like Old Fourth Ward and Midtown keep demand high across these sectors.
