Construction Manager Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a construction manager in Georgia?
The clearest path is earning a bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering, then gaining field experience as a superintendent or project engineer before stepping into a construction manager role. Georgia does not require a state license specifically for the title of construction manager, but general contractors operating in Georgia must hold a license through the State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors, and most employers expect the PMP or CCM credential for senior roles.
Which companies hire construction managers in Georgia?
Employers hiring construction managers in Georgia right now include Turner & Townsend Pty Limited, Planate Management, and AIS Infrastructure, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's concentration of large healthcare systems, data center campuses, and mixed-use urban developments keeps demand from a wide mix of national and regional general contractors steady throughout the year.
Which Georgia cities have the most construction manager jobs?
Atlanta, Alpharetta, and Duluth account for the most construction manager openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates because of its scale as a major commercial hub with ongoing high-rise, healthcare, and transit projects, while Savannah's booming industrial port expansion and Augusta's large military and medical campus presence drive consistent hiring in those markets as well.
Are there remote construction manager jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they're rare. About 39% of construction manager openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, which reflects the hands-on, site-dependent nature of most construction management work. The parts of the role most suited to remote work are pre-construction planning, estimating, and document control, while active site oversight almost always requires a physical presence.
How can I get hired as a construction manager in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a project engineer, field engineer, or assistant superintendent, roles that large Georgia-based contractors such as Holder Construction and Brasfield and Gorrie hire for directly out of accredited construction management or civil engineering programs. Georgia Tech and Kennesaw State University both have strong ties to these employers. Earning your OSHA 30-Hour certification and gaining exposure to Procore before applying gives candidates a clear edge over others at the same experience level.
Where can I find and apply to construction manager jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to construction manager jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your experience and specialization, then apply directly to the employers posting them without any extra steps in between.
