Corporate Development Manager Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a corporate development manager job in Chicago?
Focus your search on Chicago's financial services corridor in the Loop and the growing Fulton Market tech and healthcare cluster, where M&A and strategic growth activity is heaviest. Private equity-backed companies, large health systems, and diversified industrials headquartered here hire most actively. Candidates with hands-on deal execution experience, an MBA from a local program, and a network built through Chicago finance or strategy circles tend to move fastest through the hiring process.
Which companies hire corporate development managers in Chicago?
Chicago corporate development manager roles are posted by HARVEY, Amazon, and Qualtrics and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters, mid-market private equity platforms, and large regional health systems means openings come from a wide range of employer types across the city.
Are there remote corporate development manager jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though the role is largely relationship-driven and deal-intensive, which limits full-remote arrangements compared to purely analytical positions. About 25% of corporate development manager openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with most flexibility appearing in the diligence and financial modeling phases rather than deal sourcing or integration work.
How can I get a corporate development manager job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is moving laterally from investment banking, strategy consulting, or corporate finance roles at one of the city's large financial institutions or professional services firms. Bulge-bracket banks and the major consulting offices concentrated in the Loop regularly place analysts into internal corporate development functions. Roles titled strategic planning analyst or M&A associate at a Chicago-area industrial or healthcare company are common stepping stones, and an MBA from Booth or Kellogg accelerates the transition.
Which industries hire the most corporate development managers in Chicago?
Chicago corporate development manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Retail, and E-Commerce & Online Marketplaces, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's status as a major financial hub, combined with its density of healthcare headquarters and private equity firms, makes those sectors the primary drivers of local hiring in this function.
