CPT Workers Compensation Specialist Jobs
Workers Compensation Specialist roles sit at the intersection of insurance law, HR compliance, and claims administration, making them a strong CPT fit for students in risk management, human resources, or business programs. Your DSO must confirm the role connects directly to your curriculum before you start, so bring a job description to that meeting.

Get Access To All JobsWorkers Compensation Specialist CPT: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Workers Compensation Specialist role qualify for CPT?
It depends on your degree program. CPT must be an integral part of your curriculum, so a Workers Compensation Specialist position qualifies if your program covers insurance, risk management, HR compliance, or a related field. Your DSO makes the final call based on how well the job description aligns with your course of study. Bring the full posting, not just the title, to that conversation.
Can I work part-time as a Workers Compensation Specialist on CPT?
Yes. CPT can be authorized as part-time or full-time, but part-time CPT has no cap on duration, while 12 months or more of full-time CPT eliminates your OPT eligibility. If you're weighing a full-time offer against your post-graduation plans, discuss the OPT impact with your DSO before accepting. Many students in this field start part-time to preserve their OPT.
Do employers need to file anything with USCIS for CPT?
No. CPT authorization is entirely school-side. Your DSO issues an updated I-20 with the employer name, start date, and end date. Your employer doesn't file with USCIS or pay any government fees. That said, the employer's HR team will need to complete Form I-9 and verify your I-20 and EAD, so share those documents as soon as your I-20 is updated.
How do I find Workers Compensation Specialist roles open to CPT students?
Migrate Mate lists employers with nonimmigrant work authorization history, which helps you identify companies already comfortable with F-1 work authorization documentation. Workers Compensation Specialist roles appear most often in healthcare, manufacturing, and logistics. You can also cross-reference the O*NET profile for this occupation to identify related job titles that might appear under different names in postings.
Will a state workers compensation adjuster license affect my CPT eligibility?
Holding a state license doesn't affect your CPT eligibility, but the licensing process can complicate your timeline. Some states require a background check or Social Security Number verification before issuing an adjuster license. You can typically use your SSN from prior employment or OPT, but if you don't have one yet, apply early. Delays in licensing can push your start date past your CPT authorization window.
