SUMMARY
Seeking a Principal Product Designer for a global pharma company to support the Enterprise Web Initiative (EWI)—the centralized platform and operating model that enables teams to create, manage, and scale digital web experiences. This role is critical to elevating the quality, usability, and visual excellence of enterprise digital products while ensuring consistency across the brand ecosystem. The Principal Product Designer will translate product, brand, and experience strategy into best-in-class digital experiences through exceptional design craft and product thinking. As a senior individual contributor, this role blends hands-on design execution, visual and UX leadership, and mentorship, partnering closely with Design Directors, Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure EWI experiences reflect company standards for trust, clarity, accessibility, and compliance in a highly regulated global environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Set and elevate the design standard for enterprise digital products, contributing hands-on design leadership across EWI-managed web experiences.
- Translate product strategy, user needs, and brand vision into intuitive, accessible, and high-fidelity design solutions.
- Ensure digital experiences maintain consistent visual design, interaction patterns, accessibility, and content hierarchy aligned with the client's enterprise design system.
- Support the end-to-end product design process—from discovery and concepting through design, validation, and launch—within an enterprise web governance model.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to define requirements, scope solutions, and resolve complex design challenges while balancing speed, scalability, and quality.
- Champion user-centered design, usability, and accessibility best practices (WCAG), particularly for healthcare, patient, and provider-facing experiences.
- Contribute to and help evolve enterprise design systems, component libraries, UI patterns, and templates to enable scalable product development.
- Communicate design rationale clearly and persuasively to stakeholders and leadership.
- Act as a quality bar for design execution, ensuring solutions meet product, brand, regulatory, and experience standards prior to delivery.
CORE COMPETENCIES
- Exceptional product design and visual design craft with a strong user-centered mindset.
- Ability to translate complex product and business requirements into clear, elegant design solutions.
- Deep expertise in digital product design, design systems, accessibility, and scalable UI patterns.
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to mentor and influence designers without direct authority.
- High attention to detail and strong design judgment at enterprise scale.
REQUIRED EDUCATION

- Extensive experience designing web-based and digital products within agile or product-led environments.
- Strong experience working within design systems and component-based platforms.
- Proven collaboration with product managers, engineers, and leadership to define and deliver solutions.
