Entry Level Customer Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level customer engineer job?
Start by building hands-on technical experience through internships, lab projects, or personal builds that demonstrate how you troubleshoot and solve customer-facing problems. Employers hiring at this level look for strong communication skills alongside technical aptitude, so being able to explain technical concepts clearly is just as important as knowing the tools. A degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field helps, though bootcamp graduates with a solid portfolio are competitive too.
Which companies hire entry level customer engineers?
Companies hiring entry level customer engineers right now include Kentro, Amphenol, and KLA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring covers technology vendors, cloud platform providers, and enterprise software companies that need early-career engineers to support product deployments and customer onboarding.
Are there remote entry level customer engineer jobs?
Yes, though most postings still prefer on-site or hybrid availability given the customer-facing nature of the work. About 33% of entry level customer engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates who need location flexibility will find options without limiting their search entirely to local roles.
Are these new grad customer engineer jobs?
Yes, these roles include new grad, recent graduate, and junior customer engineer positions. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship work or academic projects as qualifying background, or explicitly invites candidates who are early in their careers. A new grad with strong communication skills and relevant coursework is a viable candidate for many of these openings.
Which industries hire the most entry level customer engineers?
Entry Level customer engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Electronics & Hardware, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they rely on continuous product rollouts and customer integrations that need dedicated engineers to guide clients through setup, configuration, and early adoption.
