Cybersecurity Engineer Jobs in Arlington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a cybersecurity engineer job in Arlington?
Focus your search on the defense contractors, federal agencies, and government IT services firms that cluster in Rosslyn, Ballston, and Pentagon City. Active clearances, particularly Secret or TS/SCI, are a strong differentiator in this market. Candidates with experience in NIST frameworks, zero-trust architecture, or federal compliance regimes like FedRAMP and FISMA consistently stand out with Arlington-area employers.
Which companies hire cybersecurity engineers in Arlington?
Companies currently hiring cybersecurity engineers in Arlington include Guidehouse, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Accenture Federal Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Arlington's employer mix skews heavily toward defense primes, federal systems integrators, and national security contractors given its proximity to the Pentagon and major intelligence community clients.
Are there remote cybersecurity engineer jobs in Arlington?
Yes, though roles vary considerably. Hands-on positions involving classified networks or on-site federal systems typically require in-person presence, while analytical and advisory roles are more remote-compatible. About 50% of cybersecurity engineer openings tied to Arlington are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. Policy, compliance, and threat intelligence work tends to offer the most remote flexibility among Arlington-area postings.
How can I get a cybersecurity engineer job in Arlington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Arlington is targeting junior analyst or security operations center roles with mid-tier defense contractors and managed security service providers that staff government contracts.
