Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as a Sr. Business Data Analyst.
This important role will function as an expert advocacy and translation layer between various core business divisions with their requirements and technical implementations of various data solutions, providing strategic, analytical, and technical support for data and analytics activities. This role conducts data analysis, usage requirements and focuses on data reporting and integration-intensive initiatives that drives valuable business outcomes. The analyst leverages data and technology tools to gain key insight into business opportunities, identifies technical solution possibilities, and effectively presents these insights to business stakeholders. They are responsible to identify business challenges, opportunities related to data and analytics, initiate data project requests and engage with business partners to influence project decisions; assess the risks of various solutions and help prioritize competing business demands.

To be successful in this role you must possess:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration with data engineering focus, or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
- Several years of experience in data & analytics and delivering business value through focused data initiatives.
- Several years of experience in contributing to a data quality, master data, data cataloging and advanced analytics disciplines, with three to five year experience preferred.
- A few years of experience in technology architecture, operations, and design related disciplines.
- Expert knowledge of data analysis and usage requirements assessment and recording.
- Strong understanding of data and integration architectures.
- Influencing skills and demonstrated ability to engage both data developers and business partners to achieve target outcomes.
- Ability to guide solution design and architecture to meet business needs.
- Proficiency in modern data and analytics tools on-premise and in the cloud.
- Good understanding of Data Management Body of Knowledge principles from DAMA or similar industry D&A leaders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills Self-starter with ability to multi-task, adapt quickly, learn independently, and complete projects with short iterative timelines.
- Knowledge of modern cloud data analytics technologies preferably Microsoft based.
- Ability to deliver presentations to senior-level business leaders and technical audiences.
The ideal candidate would also have experience in:
- A Data Management, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence or similar certification from a reputable institution is preferred.
- Knowledge of financial/mortgage business data analysis and processes is preferred.

Hiring Range: $95,000 – 128,000
